With the creation of the NewDark engine (System Shock 2 V2.4.patch) and the subsequent release on Good Old Games; audiences may now for the first time enjoy this PC horror classic on modern machines, with a clean, seamless experience. Among the hundreds of engine improvements, this new version of System Shock 2 can now support 32bit textures and vastly enlarged texture sizes. This project was started with aims to take advantage of these new features by creating higher resolution character assets, while maintaining the original art direction of the game. UpRez will create full replacements of all humanoid character models in game, and in possible future releases, all NPC models.
