again, I don't mind it, but this kinda stuff gets reported. I got a ton of flaming back in the day for even mentioning porting models
Why is this illegal, anyway? We're talking about porting a model from a Half-Life game to a Half-Life game. And there's no legal ******** where the sequel is made by a different developer. They were both made by Valve. Not to mention that Valve is super laid back about modding. It's like stealing from the rich and giving back to the exact same rich person.
That's like owning LotR and saying it's not illegal to pirate the rest simply because it's the same director.
No that's more like splicing in images of Gollum in the Fellowship of The Ring. It's not like he's porting every map, animation, model, texture, entity, and potato from Half-Life 2. It's just one playermodel.
The only reason this kind of stuff gets reported is because of the self-righteous fliptards who report them. The actual owners of most franchises are generally laid back about modding (unless they're Activision. Look at "World of Star Craft"). Most of these kids need to get off the internet/die. They're the type of morons who whine about copyright stuff, because they think that they'll become rich themselves one day, or that their Fandom/Loyalty to a franchise dictates in a way that they should bully others. Some people just don't deserve the gift. The gift of life.
Well again Source mods port gold source content all the time and nothing is done or even complained about that.
Obsidian Conflict which is basically like a source version of seven coop uses HL:S and HL1 content as well so why not port source content to 7 coop >> They are both co op games which is why the port is legit among users who play the games and want to customize them.
