Wait, every faction has X-1 Vipers - what's the point?
The X-1 is a droid, so of course the droids get it. The New Republic was originally meant to have the X-1s, but the Empire had them too, or they at least tried too. They can only be built on Balmorra, cost 2200 credits and you can only have three at a time.
