Post news Report RSS Super Powers 2 mod - Full Release

The Super Powers 2 mod is complete. With this mod you will rain chaos upon your enemies, leaving them wondering what the hell happened.

Posted by on

In the beginning, this mod was little more than a few script adjustments that gave the player more strength and speed. Now, in its final stage, the entire campaign has been remade. In this mod you will experience the full power of the nano suit. Enemies are highly skilled and vastly numerous. The AI difficulty is set to a far higher level than what was available in even the most difficult setting for the normal version of Crysis, yet the player is equipped with the strength speed and stamina required to take on armies of soldier and alien foes alike. There are many vehicles, weapons, and enemies available in this mod that are not present otherwise. Many maps have been severely altered while other have been made more difficult. This is Crysis as it was meant to be. This mod requires more processing power than the original game due to the much greater number of enemies being rendered. If your computer can play the normal version of Crysis pretty well then this mod should work fine, but if you are already experiencing significant performance issues than this mod is not for you.

Looks like a lot of fun. Though I think my computer will throw an utter hissy fit at me if I try and play it, it normaly throws a small tantrum to play Crysis on fairly low settings.

Cool! Please make a shockwave at the first weapon and go on with this!

Edit: What music is that?

I am not really sure if this mod works with Crysis warhead or not. When I tried it, it worked but with some quite obvious bugs but my warhead disc is pretty scratched and I think it might just be my copy. If someone else tries this, please let us know if it works or not. Work perfectly with Crysis 1 though.

Wow! This mod is practically worthy of a 5 out of 5 star rating (that's pretty huge for me)! The visual effects are completely stunning, the menu navigation (for switching powers, weapons, etc.) is fluid, and the powers and weapons you own make you feel unstopable. This would be perfect for myself only if I had more than a 1.0 ghz processor and 256 mbs RAM, only if...

Well thank you but most of what you describe is native to Crysis.

Why haven't you packaged it as a mod ? Unpacking it from the archive means to overwrite default files of Crysis.
It could be easier and cleaner if you just create a SuperPowers directory containing your Game folder and a simple info.xml (and why not a .bat to launch your mod).

because I dont know how to do that.
I'm really good at using the FarCry and Crysis editor but I dont know how to write batch files or any of that.

I just explained you how to do : you have to create a mod folder such as :
. <Path>\Crysis\Mods\SuperPowers\Game
. Your SuperPowers Folder must contain a info.xml written like this
--------------------------------------
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Mod Name="SuperPowers" Version="1.0" Screenshot="Mod.jpg" Description="SuperPowers" URL="https://www.moddb.com/mods/super-powers-mod-2-complete"></Mod>
--------------------------------------
. You can add a file Mod.jpg to have a splash screen on launch
. You can create a batch file of a shortcut to make it easier for players to launch you mod. This file, could be name SuperPowers.bat and must contain :
--------------------------------------
@echo off
..\..\bin32\Crysis.exe -MOD SuperPowers
--------------------------------------

To resume, you'll have the following structure
<Path>
..|_Crysis
....|_Mods
......|_SuperPowers
........|_Game (the actual game folder you published)
........|_info.xml
........|_Mod.jpg
........|_SuperPowers.bat

Ill see if I can figure out how to do that. If you want to write a batch file and e-mail it to me or something, that would be awesome. So having a batch file will keep the origional files from being overwritten?

To keep the original files from being overwritten, just follow the files structure described.
The batch will only be a launcher for the mod. That's all.
