Hey guys, I won't ask how it's coming with 2.5 but I'd thought I'd add my 2cents on weapons you should consider adding.
First off: .308 cal ARs. THEY ROCK!! and we need more of them. I was playing 2.4 the other day and I picked up a weapon that looked like an FAL, and almost shit myself with excitement, but then I realized it was an FNC. Assault rifles in 7.62x51 caliber are badass, and should be incorporated more in games (to a realistic degree). Alot of people say it's cheating to have a fully automatic assault rifle "in a sinper caliber durr hurr", but they obviously don't know shit. Most .308 battle rifles are primarily used with single fire only, because full auto is hard to control. Look at the Falklands war. Both sides were using FAL's, but the winning side had single fire only rifles, so they were much more accurate in the long distance combat that took place over the hilly terrain. If you add a full auto .308 I'd suggest bumping up the recoil parameters so players are more inclined to use semi. I like to use these rifles as intermediate snipers.
So rifle suggestions in .308: FN FAL/DSA, G3/PTR-91, M-14 EBR, and the SCAR H

Next is pistols. I really like the weapon selection for the most part in 2.4, but the pistols didn't really have any flare. I rarely used them and would often opt for a lightweight PDW like the TMP. I mean sure, there were pistols like the Deagle and Raging Bull which were fun and all, but I often only used them for shits n' giggles when I didn't really need too. The .45s were really the only weapons that had enough kick to quickly take down an opponent in a tight spot, or to use a silencer with to stealth kill without having a suppressed main. I would have liked to use the customized 1911's, but I couldn't find them. Without much practical use beyond a backup weapon when there's no time for reload, people don't often appreciate or use the pistols in games, UNLESS they are exotic or rare in nature. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would go around in CoD2/5 and cap Nazis in the leg in the hopes they'd pull out a Luger in last-man-stand, and loot it, using nothing else the entire mission. What I'm saying is we need more rare and exotic pistols to catch peoples attention.
My first bit of advice would be to take out some of the slav-crap pistols to make room for the better stuff. I know it's less geologically realistic, but honestly, when we've got random bandits running around with P90s and HK417s, I really don't think it matters. I'd get rid of the Pb's, the GSH18, Tokarevs, and maybe one of the SEVERAL slav-machine pistols like the OC-33. I like the Beretta, but by the time you start finding them, there are much better sidearms to be had, and 9x19 is already obsolete. I'd suggest upgrading it to the 93r. I love the old 1911's, but how about adding some rare SA Operators for some good looks. If you want to keep it regionally realistic, then how about adding a CZ-P01. A friend of mine has one, and it's a thing of beauty.
Other suggestions: FN 5.7, Colt Peacemaker (or any old western would be lolworthy), any compact Glock models, Luger, HK Mk.23, Steyr M1A, Jericho, Beretta Px4, Smith & Wesson M&P.

Assault Rifles: You guys did an amazing job with these in 2.4, there's not much more I could ask for, however. An updated M4 platform would be nice. The old skin for the M4 a1 is really bland and ugly, the textures are really sloppy, and it even looks outdated. Could we get a cleaner looking newer model with a flat-top receiver and handguard rails? Maybe with flip down sights that actually change when a scope is added. The old carry handle peep-sights are anyone, and the scope attachment takes up half the screen. I saw mentioned there might be a Chinese QBZ, I would like that greatly. Too many AK skins and variants, knock it down to 3 AK47 & AK74 skins, but keep the 101-108 series. I've also been wondering if you could somehow implement a forward grip system, to help improve recoil control and maybe slightly better accuracy. I know it wouldn't make much difference in SmP, but LURK sure could have used it with their weapon recoil system. It would also be nice if you could add the HK AG36 grenade launcher for their line of ARs. One more thing, I would love to see an EOtech sight addon.

Shotguns: Goes without saying you might as well have just included the SPAS-12 and Siaga's. LURK had a pretty good thing going with the Remington 870 with stock. I loved that thing. If we could get some bigger, stronger, and more accurate shotguns with stocks we could use those in more environments. With tighter chokes we can put a whole buckshot into some guy's face at 50 yards. I'm sure someone's already suggested this, but...... AA-12. I know I know, it's become cliche already, but it would be a room-clearing beast with the 30 round drum mag. LURK tried to incorporate that new frag shotgun round, but it was just a slightly more damaging dart effect, if you could take that and add actual tiny explosion effect, you would be GODS. If the AA-12 is too used, then consider the USAS-12 for an auto-shotty. Someone on this board mentioned the possibility of a shotgun-underbelly attachment for the ARs like the Masterkey system. This would also be cool. Can't fathom how useful it would be to switch to a shotgun just but touching V.

Submachineguns: UMP .45, Thompson (typewriter), MP5k, Chinese Type 05, PM 98, Ruger MP9, and of course, if you don't put this in I'll cry, the Skorpion vz61 or Skorpion EVO III. (the EVO is in 9x19)

LMGs: FN Minimi or Mk 48 mod 0, Type 95, HK 23 E, and we must have an RPD for 7.62x39.

Snipers: I don't really much care what you do here, we already have plenty, but I would like to see you make that PSG-1. BUT, under NO circumstances should you put the WA2000 in there. There's just no freaking way. Not only is it overused, but there are only 75 in existence, and they all belong to rich millionaires and executives of Walther.
However, I kinda want to see the GOL, or Blazer 93 tactical, or maybe even an R700. If you could change out the current M-14 for the M-21 that would be better.
Is there any way we could get .50 cals up and running? I'd love to see the Barret and AS-50.

One little sidenote: I was using Reptile's FNC that has that neat shooting visual, and read the gun info where it mentioned having a artefact built in, and that got me thinking. It would be really neat to see more customized weapons that have unique skins (like the blue line) that have been modified using anomalies from the zone. Some really interesting things could be done if you could somehow harness the dangers of the Zone in a weapon. Consider this: a sniper rifle that causes a springboard anomaly burst wherever it hits, a grenade launcher that creates a vortex anomaly wherever it lands, a burner flamethrower, bullets that are filled with small amounts of fruitpunch anomalies that corrode the victim's armor and weapons, or electro tazer rounds. Even incorporating Zone creature abilities, like a weapon that can control a target and turn him into an ally temporarily, or a shotgun that shoots a dwarf psy-blast. Or just messing with the muzzle flash visuals like with the FNC while having higher stats. Just think about it.

Oh by the way, if you need any last minute beta play testers, I'd be happy to help. I'm a gun owner and enthusiast (I own a WASR 10, Bushmaster M4, FAL, HK 33, and several pistols), and I have beta play test experience (currently helping with Black Prophecy). I've spent hours reworking the gun stats in LURK to be more realistic, so I know how to manage some of the gamedata files.

Thank you for your time and hopefully your consideration.

Thanks for you ideas. We're not adding new guns. We're pass that stage. Maybe for future version in COP engine.
