SteelMod is a 7 Days To Die RPG mod that aims to bring communities together for some RPG fun! A lot of servers want to run RP servers, but lack the necessary .xml modifications to really feel like they are playing a role in a world scattered with rag tag groups of people, all fighting to survive and control whatever seems to be viable left in the wasteland. We achieved this goal simply by restricting specific recipes to custom books, that, when read, will unlock a unique set of recipes that relates to the title of the "Job". This allows the server to balance so that there is no single power player in the world. You must come together, and build your civilizations, to reclaim the world that is owned by the undead. With a massive feature list, as well as continued development throughout the process of 7 Days To Die's creation. Below is what we currently have to offer

Post news Report RSS SteelMod v5.1 Out Now

An essential patch that fixes various missing items, balances boss loot and strength, and adds a few additional goods

Posted by on

We have released a new patch that addresses some issues with looting, balance, and inventory lag. Read on below for the full changelog:

SteelMod v5.1

Loot

  • Fixed animals not dropping proper meat
  • Adjusted Boss zombie loot to drop loot groups instead of items, meaning more items will drop, at a balanced pace
  • Adjusted runner zombie loot to match proper category

Zombies

  • Removed infection chance from day runner zombies
  • Decreased Screamer Boss' damage
  • Increased Screamer Boss health to 400

Recipes

With this recent build, we added Vouchers to the loot of common and boss zombies. These are used as special currency, which can be crafted into useful materials and items. In this patch, we introduced a few recipes to go hand in hand with Vouchers:

Metals

  • Scrap Iron x10 - 1 Voucher
  • Forged Iron x10 - 10 vouchers
  • Forged Nickel x10 - 15 Vouchers
  • Forged Cobalt x10 - 20 Vouchers
  • Forged Steel x10 - 25 Vouchers
  • Forged Tungsten x10 - 50 Vouchers
  • Forged Titanium x10 - 75 Vouchers
  • Forged Magnesium Alloy x10 - 100 Vouchers

Tools

  • Iron Pickaxe x1 - 3 Vouchers
  • Iron Fireaxe x1 - 3 Vouchers
  • Iron Shovel x1 - 3 Vouchers
  • Steel Pickaxe x1 - 6 Vouchers
  • Steel Fireaxe x1 - 6 Vouchers
  • Steel Shovel x1 - 6 Vouchers

More to follow in future updates.

  • Removed lock of most class-only items, and instead, locked the materials needed in order to make the items. This includes things like tools and weapon parts. While you will be able to craft most of what's needed for items, some will be needed to be taken to a specialist in order to complete (ex: Gun parts need to be taken to Gunsmith for assembly)
  • Added a "Main Class Book" to starter items, that can be crafted into 1 of the 10 primary class books.
