"Steel Halo: Imperial Sport, Commons League", a first person sport simulation for Unreal Tournament 2004.
Beta v0.9.1 available for download - here
Steel Halo is the rumoured sport played by the Huristar, the legendary Holy Guard of the Emperor. Named in honour of Emperor Zaquen, known to citizens of the Empire as the Steel Halo, the brutal contact sport has gradually filtered through to the outer rim colonies, spread by disgraced Huristar trying to relive their former glory.
Competitors form teams and use a variety of Gravity Rifles to vie for possession of the crown, which must be shot through a goal to score. There are no rules, no penalties, no umpires - highest score wins.
Beta 0.9.1 features 3 maps. With a total of 14 maps planned for v1.0, as well as a horde of new and revised features to be implemented as part of our release schedule for the next 12 months, Steel Halo has begun its long but deliberate march towards becoming the Massively Multiplayer Online Sports Game to play - so come and join the Commons League today!

downloaded and played, thought it would be more of a gun based sports game (man that would be crazy lol).
Great news about the release guys, I actually remember back to the days of Kannonball, and in more recent times, Damian Scott's (aka harsh the Team Leader) presentation at FreePlay 2005.
Congratulations on the first release looking forward to purchasing UT2K4 to give it a whirl.
get it, it's only $10 now :)
This looks really cool!
Awesome, this looks like a good contender against Deathball, one of my all time favorite UT2004 mods. I'll definitely be checking this out!
no idea on what the heck this is but im downloading it XD (yeah i have ut2004)
get a server running, so we can play it ;)
The memories of Kannonball come rushing back.
*Downloads*
We have a development server up, but as we are still in beta, it may crash from time to time.
Just use the IP address: 64.142.120.83
When it comes time for the Version 1 release we will try and beg, borrow or steal some decent server space so that it will play a whole heap better ;)
Just keep in mind that the server is US based; right now the response times aren't that great outside of the USA so players in other parts of the world are probably better off running their own private servers for now (or offering us server space *wicked grin*)
For V1 try to get in touch with Fuzzy from Dystopia (HL2 mod) who works for GameArena (Bigpond's (Aussie ISP) gaming system) to get a release server up... It may or may not work, the worst you could do is not give it a shot.
