If you have yet to try out Steam Racers, the crazy Steam Punk combat racer for UT3, soon will be the best time to try it! As the deadline of the Make Something Unreal contest Grand Finals is approaching, we are working around the clock to finish off the newest and by far coolest version of Steam Racers yet.
Now we are sharing some of the first details of version 3.0 with the outside world and there is a lot to look forward to. Today we will share the first piece of information with you; the new game modes.
3 new game modes
Now the classic Steam Racers game mode is not the only one to experience the joyful madness of Steam Punk in. We have introduced three new game modes to the game a little extra something for each and ever taste.
First of all, we have added game modes for pure racing and pure combat. That means that you can set up the game, so points are only awarded by completing checkpoints and laps or by shredding each other apart.
But the most exciting of these new game modes is Baron of the Tank. In this take on David vs. Goliath, the map is populated with a fully upgraded and extremely powerful Scotch Boiler and seven Steam Punk versions of a go-kart. In this game mode, only the player controlling the Scotch Boiler is awareded points for kills, and now the rest of the players must team up to destroy the Scotch Boiler in hope to be the next to take control of this steam-driven tank.
