Description

So, these are a few screenshots I was able to find of the park map I showed off in the article in its very, very early stages! The project had no gameplay at this point, no weapons, NPCs, nothing. There were only empty maps that you could walk around in, very basic interactions had been scripted with the computer terminals you'd encounter every now & then, but aside from that, you were walking through an empty, lifeless map from point A to point B.

Around this time, the mod lacked a proper codebase, there was no spirit features or particles, or anything of the kind. I even based some of the initial maps off of RainFall.

Sadly, I don't have the source or bsp to the EARLIEST versions of the maps (I have some of them), I do however have the development of them very well documented through screenshots I have been able to dig up over time, and through my own memory.

Further regarding this map, many of the designs & prefabs that I've cut from it (the tiles, the crystal lamps) are going to be repurposed for areas later in the game, where their usage will much better compliment the aesthetic of the level they're placed in. As the gardens chapter took shape, it began to look more & more like a mishmash of different artstyles & aesthetics, and I had to remedy that on many maps.

Thank you all so much for all the feedback & comments on the article so far! It means alot to me, and I appreciate every single one of you, and to all you new followers to the project, welcome!
