The new As version closed beta starts!
The Closed multi-player Beta starts. We are looking for new testers. Please, join us in this journey, made this game the best Stargate themed strategy game!
Dear people, the thing what we waited for, now arrived. I decided to start the Closed Multi-player Beta. If you would like to take part in it, please write under this article. I made a group for the testers, with forums. The main goal is to find balancing problems in the multy.
A good tester:
- Plays with the game, and write down the bugs
- Give advices about how have to solve the problems
- Checks for grammatical problems, and write how to fix them
- Have fun of course
- Admire the developers work, and helps them
There are few things, what you mustn't do:
- Don't upload the newest version to any file sharing servers! Remember, this is closed.
- Don't use any resources from the mod!
Why good to participate in the beta?
- Send the mod with you friends to play together
- Play with the newest, pre-tested version of the mod
- Make videos, photos about the matches
- The readme file will be contain the most handy testers name
- The mod has changed a lot, HD textures, new models, lot of new units, and a new multi nation, Horus have arrived
- You can try the new units in the editor too
What you need?
- Internet of course
- A computer which able to run Men of War: Assault Squad, you don't need a super computer, mine is an old, one cored pentium configuration, and the mod runs fine with it
- Write here a comment or send me a Pm
- You have to install Hamachi to play with the mod online

man this mod is shaping up so nicely! too bad my motherboard STILL hasn't arrived.. so i cant play arghh..

ehh.. might be better not to do this, since someone could share it wit ha friend who then shares it with his friend and him with is friend an on an on an on.... you get it. better off keeping it within the Beta testers. but just a suggestion, its your mod after all :)
I agree with Chompster. If one person gives it out it'll be all over the internet within a day.
Good luck with your mod by the way. I don't want to beta test (I'm bad online, I'll just stick to single-player!)

And that'd be a bad thing for a mod... why?
because its a BETA, which is meant for testing. a few being selected to test the game out before being released to spot and report bugs and other issues. this ISN'T a release.

Also, because it can have a negative impact on the mod, it could be misunderstood for the final release, and damage the mods reputation.
Point is there is no point to share it with the world, since it is a beta mod, and it will release the final product to the entire world for free at some point.
That said, I too agree it shouldnt be handed out to just anyone, make a list of testers (10 - 20 or so fans) and only supply it to them.

hey was one of the people that was in the last beta and it was good dint get much play time in it thow cause i couldnt find meny people who played it i think i f you could make a steam group for all the peopel you hand it out to and them mabye it be abit easyer to find people to play with
