Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. Begun, a new conflict has.
Ships of Battlegroups Centurion and Warspite, lead by the Allegience class battlecruiser INS Centurion (ABC-402) and the Tector-Class Star Destroyer INS Warspite (TSD-2201).
You know, Imperial ships didn't have any prefix like 'INS' right? I mean do you even have to ask whose ship it is when you see a Star Destroyer, let alone a fleet of them?
Though I see you captured a Quasar Fire there. Don't tell me some Rebel tech has grown on you. :p
That or he saw the latest episode of Rebels. Apparently the Quasar is an Imperial carrier now.
Rebels is disgusting
Originally it was used by the Empire. Much the Nebulon-B Frigate which is almost entirely associated with the Rebel Alliance. Larger ships were hard to come by for the fledgling Alliance and because of their desperate need for warships they used Quasar Fire Bulk Cruisers. (The Commercially available models made by Sorosuub) as carriers. The Imperial version you see in Star Wars Rebels is technically a different classification and is a Quasar Fire-class Escort Carrier. So same vessel more or less the difference being only the origin of it. Sorosuub converted Bulk Cruiser or Imperial Escort Carrier.
I like the Quasar, and as a cargo ship escort it might make sense, as it is a modified bulk cruiser. But yeah, I struggle to see why they couldn't do an escort carrier if they wanted to go with that reference.
Yeah I was looking forward to the Escort carrier finally getting some screen time. And they go with the Quasar instead. Although I do like the four launch bays over the one single bay.
Maybe Tactos became a warlord because he was an organizational OCD nut and the Imperial Navy would never push his new registration methods through.
Well some novels do use ship prefixes, as do some of the games. For example in Republic Commando the abandoned Acclamator was named both verbally and in subtitles the "RAS Prosecutor".
I was always fond of using "HIMS" for my Imperial ships as in a ship of "His Imperial Majesty's Navy", seemed to fit with the attitude of a proper Imperial.
As a Warlord I do give my ships the prefix. Gotta be different from the rest of the Empire xP
According to the TIE Fighter manual, Imperial ships had a prefix that matched their ship. I.e. the "VSD Protector" is the designation the Victory-class Star Destroyer 'Protector' used. 'ISD' also comes up here and there in novels and comics for Imperial Star Destroyer.
Oh, and uhh... the 'Mon Mothma' and the 'Rebel Dream' were both ISD's that served the Rebel scum, then there's the travesty to both fashion and rightful authority known as the 'Errant Venture'. Then there's the 'Lusankya,' which eventually wound up in their hands. There is literally no reason for the Empire to NOT have an 'INS' or 'ISS' or 'HIMS' designation. You'll notice that there are no indications of designations during the Clone Wars or TOR eras either, when such a thing would be EXTREMELY necessary, considering the number of systems which had defensive fleets which probably all used relatively similar vessels.
If you're referring to the Video game TIE Fighter, I would assume that has probably been retconned by now. I tried to research this to make sure before posting, but I found nothing on the topic, which leads me to assume it isn't a thing in the Star Wars universe.
Yes some Star Destroyers were captured. Still they are so rare I don't think anyone should alter their reflex of seeing a Star Destroyer and thinking its the Empire. And two of your examples, the captured Lusankya and the Errant Venture, had unique paint jobs just to make it clear they were not mistaken for Imperial ships.
The only ship with a prefix I can find listed is the ISS Empirical Vader's research ship in Force Unleashed.
Noooooo A100percentBEEF don't let the rebellion corrupt you i need you to spew pure imperial propaganda.
Centurion*
That's how I spelled it...
Oh nvm, just saw the typo.
