Something like that. The Viscount is definitely a specialized titan killer.

Wow this thing is amazing. Reminds me a little bit of the MC 75 with that fin and general shape.

Exactly : it looks like a cross between the MC 75 and the common Viscount design.

That is a considerably different design then that I have seen from game models, including that from a board game that I own. Will take some getting use to, if I ever do.

What board game did the Viscount show up in? Jereon(imo) tends to like to add his own touches on models, especially if he thinks the base design is not that detailed.

In fairness, the Star Defender was never pictured. It was only mentioned in novels. There was a specific battlecruiser of unknown class that was named the Viscount pictured in another book as well. Then at some later point the Guide to Warfare retconned the two into the same line. They started out as two completely different things though.

That's the info that Jereon and the Remake team are working from and they are treating the pictured battlecruiser (3km) and the actual Star Defender (17 km) as distinct but related designs. This is the big one of course. Even the current retconned lore refers to the 3km ship as a prototype (not necessarily entirely representative of the final 17 km production model). It makes no logical sense that you could take a 3km long ship and just stretch it to 17km without having to make some changes anyways.

It's from star wars miniatures starship battles. It was in the starter set for that with the Executor.

I'm beating a dead horse probably, but Viscount Star Defender WAS, actually, pictured in all it 17 km glory, in "Starships of the Galaxy (Saga Edition)" sourcebook. Back in 2007, Wizards of the Coast decided to give rebels some counterpart for Executor for their board game. WotC took Viscount(which was only mentioned in novels couple of times before), gave it pictures(including one, where it fights Executor), model, 17 km length, Executor-level armaments, et cetera...

And an unexpected problem arose: in novels Viscount itself was said to be twice larger than Mediator battlecruiser. 17 km long Viscount = 8,5 km Mediator.
Next comes Guide to Warfare and its decision to downscale Mediator back, as novels said NR built a large fleet of them. So, EGTW introduced Viscount prototype, 3 km large(and never pictured, btw), and pair of actual 17 km dreadnouhts(one appeared in novels, yet never described in details), to keep consistency with WotC.
So, Mediator went to 1,5 km as a supposedly new version of MC-90. Ironically, MC-85 cruiser from Disney trilogy could make an excellent Viscount prototype model. Even their size are close.
Still, very well done model and texture, just not an actual 17 km Viscount(nose section betray it). Maybe, you can scale it to 3 km or like this, use as hero ship, and add classical Star Defender model too.

That is not the same scenario as the team who made it explained, which is outlined in another reply above. At this point though, I don't really care anymore. It is clearly going to be impossible to please everyone, despite having offered a superior model for use.

Description

So after the re-textured Eclipse was posted, we were approached by Jereon(imo) (aka the Dutchman) from Empire at War: Remake fame. While we had sourced from his work previously (The Nebula, Bellator & Allegiance) he wondered if we would be interested in using some of his newer custom models and if I would be interested in texturing them for both projects to use.

The first one he suggested was a brand new custom made Viscount model. While there is an older version of the Viscount floating around that we were going to use, Jereon's new one is intended specifically to represent the larger of the two known sizes variants of the ship and has macro-scale detailing to represent that fact.

I've been working on this for several weeks now and I'm pleased to present the now textured new version of the Viscount. The render is of the EaW version which includes all the geometry but the Sins version will drop some of the tinier details and generally look pretty much the same as well.

This will hopefully be the first of several new meshes that will be textured as time goes on and make their way into both projects.
