Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. Begun, a new conflict has.

Description

A series of optional graphics enhancement minimods for the Enhanced 4X Mod and Interregnum to allow the player to customize their experience. Use of the Sins:Re compatibility minimods requires the Sins:Remastered Mod.

I'm afraid I cant open the preview in a quality I can properly read the mods names; might be my eyesight, might be my inability to enlarge the picture and use this website properly so please have patience as i adore this mod and greatly appreciate your work and this clarification could help others like me :)

Got the mods in the following order:

INT Sins Re 0.9lb
E4X Sins Re 0.9lb
Several INT/E4x minimods
Sins Remastered-v0.9lb
Star Wars interregnum Alpha 3.4
E4X BGM Enhanced Graphics
Enahnced 4x Mod 1.85

All good?

Do you guys have an opinion on the Sins:Remastered mod? Do you recommend using it along E4X/INT for a better experience, or did you just include the patches to appeal to a wider audience?

I've never heard of Sins:Remastered since Interregnum is really the only mod I still play so I'm just curious :)

Given that Remastered is my project along with my co-conspirator on that one, I'd say yes. But obviously I'm a bit biased as well.

My advice is to just try it and decide for yourself. It should give you more realistic metals, better lighting and more post-processing effects (optional). As always though, the source materials determine final quality and conversions aren't always ideal but I think there are gains that were made here. Also, most of the newly textured stuff was done specifically in the format of these new shaders so it is more at home under Remastered.

This is the first time we've included graphics minimods. Bailknights is probably a matter of taste. Some like it, others don't.

The SinsRe compatibility minimods are probably a more objective improvement. But we will be very interested in hearing how it affects performance. Initial tests were promising, but we need more data points on many different computers.

Both only affect graphics, so it's certainly not needed to enjoy the mod. But I expect a lot of pretty new screenshots will be appearing soon and make a compelling arguement to the benefits.

How do I support you in this? When you say data, how can I deliver that?

Use Sins Remastered and needed minimods along with E4X/Interregnum. Play some games, and let us know if you notice any difference with performance. Then let us know the results, and some details on your computer specs (RAM, CPU, Graphics card) if you want to go over the top.

All so be aware that there is an update coming for base Sins Remastered that will fix a few issues as well. That includes a few texture goofs in stock Sins assets and a fix for particle issues for (some?) Radeon users. It will also address derelict ships looking a bit off atm. It's just taking a bit longer than I had hoped to finish up.

So keep eye out for the next version. We won't have to update the E4X & INT compatibility mods so it should be a nice smooth upgrade.

Hey dolyick question about the Remastered minimods - Is there supposed to be a glow around ships and structures when the bloom setting is turned on? If it's intended it's no problem and this isn't a complaint but I didn't notice it in any of the screenshots you posted yesterday. Here's an example of what I'm talking about:

Steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net

And here's my mod list:

TXT2
SinsArchiveVersion 194
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 12
enabledModName "INT SinsRe 0.91b"
enabledModName "E4X Sins Re 0.9lb"
enabledModName "E4X BGM Enhanced Graphics"
enabledModName "INT Beskar"
enabledModName "Custom" *
enabledModName "E4X Enhanced AI"
enabledModName "E4X Expanded Research"
enabledModName "E4X Max Starbase Upgrades"
enabledModName "E4X More Tactical Slots"
enabledModName "Star Wars Interregnum Alpha 3.4"
enabledModName "Enhanced 4X Mod 1.85"
enabledModName "SinsRemastered-v0.91b"

*custom just includes some custom music, shouldn't change anything

That screenshot, overly light colored textures and full body glow is typical of what happens when you use the PBR ready textures (INT SinsRe & E4X SinsRe) without the actual PBR shaders active (from Sins: Remastered itself).

Your mod order does actually look correct so it shouldn't be happening if all that is actually enabled. The only thing might be something in your custom mod that is overriding the new shaders for some reason but I can only speculate since I have no idea what's actually in it. Either that or your copy of Sins: Remastered itself is somehow broken.

Definitely not using the right shaders though.

Custom really is just music, and just to rule it out I removed it and the problem still existed. I'm going to try redownloading the Remastered mod and the minimods to see if maybe something got corrupted along the way.

That would be a good place to start. At minimum the SinsRe ship shaders are not being used.

I tried reinstalling and it still doesn't seem to be working properly.

I do have shadows set to maximum in the settings. Everything is actually checked or set to extreme except camera shake. I can't think of what else could be the problem, could it be an issue not connected to the mods?

Settings sound fine. Similar to what I use.

At this point I would try running Sins: Remastered by itself and make sure it's working and installed properly. The file specifically responsible for ships with shadows enabled is PipelineEffect\GS_ShadowedShip.fx and it should be 30 KB in size.

So this is really weird. I did what you said and ran Sins:Remastered by itself, which worked. And then I systematically added the rest of the mods to the load order, checking to see if the problem returned as I went, until it was back to what I posted above, and the problem seems to have resolved itself. Now I'm looking for typos or a misplaced character or something but usually I copy and paste just to avoid that sort of thing.

Anyway, your suggestion did resolve the issue even if I can't track down what actually caused it, so thank you!

I actually do the same i start by making a exmaple list of what mods i want to run, then start each time with a new mod added to the load list.
However i never start with shadows at extreme even when others likes the shadows, i set it at medium most of the time and when all runs well i up the settings to see how well it plays.
Even though many claim that my pc is not fast its actually able to run everything at max with ease.
I do not buy new games because nothing sparks me to buy them.
Still waiting for a game which i want to play, so the last decade nothing made me feel i want that game.
I actually seen no RTS game released at all, single play only ofcourse

Will this help against minidumps on huge maps after some hours?

If you mean in terms of crashing due to memory usage? No. Although I will say that I haven't any real problems in my longer test games either.

I like to play huge random maps but have only some mods that work for hours without crashing.

Been running as test INT 3.4 alpha
With my i7 6700k + gtx 1070 with 32 Gb ram res at 2560x1440 and had no issues at extreme settings i admit i have allways set the shadows at high so not highest.
I used all mods available so E4X and alot of minimods and the graphical enhancers.
It runs smooth like babybottoms on my system, i am not sure that it suppose to happen or not but i get almost on everything "string not found" on almost everything in the game
While i was looking up what the error was i had to tab out of the game after loading and that crashed the game.
Anyway this is the load list of the mods i have loaded :

TXT2
SinsArchiveVersion 194
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 18
enabledModName "INT SinsRe 0.91b"
enabledModName "E4X SinsRe 0.91b"
enabledModName "E4X BGM Enhanced Graphics"
enabledModName "E4X Doubled Fleet Supply and Capitalships"
enabledModName "E4X Exploding Mines"
enabledModName "INT Faster Combat"
enabledModName "INT Beskar"
enabledModName "E4X Infinite Research"
enabledModName "E4X Max Starbase Upgrades"
enabledModName "E4X More Tactical Slots"
enabledModName "E4X Non-Vasari Phase Gate "
enabledModName "E4X Enhanced AI"
enabledModName "E4X Expanded Research"
enabledModName "INT All E4X Random Encounters"
enabledModName "E4X Disable Heroes"
enabledModName "Star Wars Interregnum Alpha 3.4"
enabledModName "Enhanced 4X Mod 1.85"
enabledModName "SinsRemastered-v0.93b"

I so it might be that some of the mods is flawed or at the wrong place.
I just wanted to see if it would buckle or crash

Found that the weird wrong naming is caused by a typo i made when i removed something from the load list. I had typed a space in the first " INT SinsRe 0.91b"
