Edans made an executive decision to join Derelict Studios (http://www.derelictstudios.net). They have a big team with a lot of people, and in all honesty, it can't hurt-- it can only help us. They have the biggest mods in the CnC Community: Blitzkrieg 2, Call to Arms, an Act of War, and others.

We will not have to change servers or anything, but we will have to switch to the Derelict Studios Forums (our key gateway to communicating with the other team members at DS). Our current forums will close down and can be reopened at any time in case we decide to leave DS for whatever reason. The new forums will be part of DS, we should be able to import over the skin so it looks like these forums, but we're going to have to start fresh. I'll talk to Phoib and the others at DS about getting the same moderators there, but we may be limited as far as the number of forums we will have. But forums are forums, and the mod's progress takes presidence.

We didn't feel great about this decision at first, but we have learned that DS does their business very professionally and they have the best in the CnC Community in their team (some of which are former IA members), and I think joining DS will allow us to have a complete release before the summer, which is imperative since Edan's going to be away for much of the summer, and EAW is coming out in the fall.

Imperial Assault is in my opinion the best mod in the CnC community (of course an unbiased perspective), and when some of the members of DS check it out they'll take it and really run with it. Everything will be the same as before, but now we will have new forums and a whole lot of new staff
