The New Republic had no oficial military, so it should not be a faction.

Didn't they have a military in the Mandalorian and in SW: Resistance? And in the Aftermath books, as well?

You even see their ships in TFA, some get vaporized when Hosnian Prime gets destroyed.

New Republic would be just a copy of the Rebel Alliance with just a reskin of some units.

The original EU version of the NR has plenty of unique units if the team wanted to make it.

Well, the FO might just be Imperial reskins, just like how the Confed is now a TF reskin when it comes to buildings. Same with Rebels/Resistance.

I'd much rather see Old Republic than New Republic, considering that as others have stated, the New Republic would basically be a copy-paste Rebel Alliance which we already get to some degree with the Resistance.

Old Republic would be cool, but which variant? The one from SWTOR 1 and 2 would mostly just have droids for battle and even the Old Sith Empire would have the same units as them. But if you mix their stuff with OR and Sith stuff from the MMO, I can see it work. Hell, they could even add the Eternal Empire of Zakuul.

Its simple really sith empire and old republic would be their own civs. Tech 1 for the sith empire will be the one from the original KOTOR game mixed with dromund kaas archutect style, and tech 4 would be the swtor onslaught expansion era. The old republic tech 1 is kinda forced to go back to the great hyperspace war era. tech 2 would be the kotor era tech 3 would be the swtor era and tech 4 would be onslaught era just a more advanced version of tech 3. eternal empire and iokath would be their own civs as well. iokath being the discount star wars cybertron. The alliance is just the old republic and sith empire units and buildings next to each other there is not really enough there to make the alliance a civ. Also yes there is a vast variety of droids who are in old republic and sith empire but i dont think they would be overpowering the regular humanoid units. Hell id even go as far to say they need to add korriban as its own civ as well and it being based off of the ancient sith empire from galactic history on swtor.com. That way korriban will be the sith empire from the great hyperspace war era. I think the hutt cartel needs to be its own civ not nessisarily based off of the old republic era but i do think it needs to be a civ. as well as the youzong vong, the chiss and the mandalorians. i mean for crying out loud the devs added the gungans as a race my suggestions should really be taken to heart.

Now that i think about it We have the confederacy and the trade federation with simalar styles i dont see any real reason the alliance from knights of the eternal throne cant be a thing.

Im doing a completionist play through of swtor through onlsaught in order and ive been thinking about this ALOT

I think Sith Empire and Old Republic can be implemented. But ones from SWTOR online game. They have a plenty of units, enough to fill tech tree.
Unfortunately we can't include Revans Empire and others from KOTOR game, there a very little number of units shown.

Sith of Revan more unique. Sith soldiers from SWTOR just like stormtroopers. And soldiers of Respublic from SWTOR just like clones.
