Standing on the shoulders.... news - Star Wars Eras mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption

In the introduction to this mod I mentioned that I would be using models created by other members of the community and I referenced Warb Null there. In this update I'd like to recognise another member of the community who has created and released a large number of excellent models which has enabled me to focus my attention on a fairly small number. Evillejedi. Below are a selection of some of Evillejedis models I'll be using in the mod.

The MC40 is a light cruiser that is equipped with strong shields, 14 turbolaser turrets, 18 ion cannon turrets and 2 warhead launchers. It carries a single fighter squadron and has powerful engines for a ship in its class. It becomes available to the Alliance once Mon Calamari has joined the rebel cause after the Battle of Yavin. A number of these ships were donated to the Alliance prior to this after the Alliance came to the aid of the peoples of Mon Calamari during their uprising against the Empire.

The MC80 Liberty Type Star Cruiser is not as well armed as an Imperial Star Destroyer, with 48 turbolasers and 20 ion cannons, but it's shielding is far superior meaning it can hold it's own in battle against an ISD. With a starfighter compliment of 3 squadrons this forms the backbone of Alliance operations during the early parts of the Galactic Civil War. As with the MC40 a number of these were donated to the Alliance cause prior to Mon Calamari joining the Rebellion. There-after the craft were available for production.

A variant of the Liberty Type this cruiser was equally as well armed and shielded as it's cousin. An additional thruster means the craft is faster, however this comes at the expense of a larger sensor package giving it a smaller sensor range.

The Dauntless Heavy Cruiser was one of the Rebels most powerful ships prior to the introduction of the Mon Calamari cruisers. Armed with 12 medium turbolaser cannons, 8 heavy ion cannons and 30 laser cannons this vessel was able to hold it's own against multiple enemies including starfighters. With a docking bay capable of carrying 2 fighter squadrons this ship was one of the more popular craft in the Rebel Alliance fleet.

The Marauder Cruiser was a fast and nimble corvette that was often referred to as the "pocket cruiser". It was armed with 8 double turbolaser cannons and could launch a single starfighter squadron. While not able to contend with the larger Imperial vessels on their own they proved very useful when supporting larger warships in engagements with Imperial forces.
