Assault-class redesign WIP image - Star Wars: Empire at War: Rebellion mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
Rebellion aims to create a realistic, multi level strategic war simulation based on the second world war, and combine it with the original trilogys feeling. You'll be managing vast parts of the Galactic Empire, and eliminate it's many adversaries, while keeping order and piece by supressing pirates and rebels, or you'll be fighting a war of attrition by leading the Alliance to Restore the Republic in a guerilla war against tyranny, spreading rebellion and hope across the galaxy.
Never really liked any of the Assault Frigate designs, not Mk1, not Mk2. So what do you do when you've got time and booze on your hand? The exact same thing any other guy in the Alliance Underground Engineering would... you mix them and add some whiskey to it.
May I present you: Frankensteins ship made out of pieces of the finest materials available from creators like:

That looks surprisingly good. Think I’d tone done a bit of the AFMK2 bits like the wings because it looks like the full ship with the engine section replaced by a standard dreadnaught. Something like that would make more sense for an AFM2 though because you can see a linear progression for it.
As someone who considers the TFUII/SOTG version of the Mk.1 as the best Assault Frigate and only one that made loreful sense. I gotta say you mixing the Mk.1 i hate with the ship i call a Mon Cal Frigate, is actually a great idea for a more sensible Mk.2

Assault Frigate Mark II looked more "professional", and like a MonCal design. This... is the same as Mark I, which was just a scrapmetal-redesign of the Dreadnought, you jsut added fine shapes from Mark II...
That's the idea. About the "professionality" of the Mk2... well it's a ****** design and it looks like one.
Megabalta may i suggest something?, your old image with the rebel and imperial intelligence. Instead of having a stormtrooper officer in the imperial intelligence image why not a kubaz?
Don't get confused because of the black uniform, he is a technical officer. Plus I don't know what a kubaz iz.

I really like the way you merged the two, the farseer made a good and plausibel mark two without straying too much from the eaw design, but this one looks solid too.

I would totally get rid of the vertical fins on the engine pod, it's too much and distracts from the dank front fins that jut out diagonally. It's got some predatory look this way, it might work!
I've actually put them there after looking at the model just like on your drawing, and seeing a pitbull in space. Plus them tails are for the Mk1 fans, everybody and no one shall be satisfied.

I like the Mk I but i've never liked the MK II. I must say i like your imagination and the end result =) I like it's look, reminds me of a shark =)
