Continuing the blog series detailing each faction's structures and units, this time with the Grand Army of the Republic! Specific units' abilities, research and support powers will be detailed later.

Legend:

  • Name (#) = Tier #
  • Name = Heroic Unit/Unique Structure

The Grand Army of the Republic was a massive millions-strong army made up of clones of the infamous bounty hunter Jango Fett that was commissioned to the Kaminoans by the late Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas for the Republic, though the Jedi's exact motivations for commissioning such an army (behind the back of the Council, no less) remain a mystery to this day. The clones' arsenal is designed to cause damage to a variety of foes despite the fact that they were created to fight droids, and their military strength heavily focuses on the use of heavy armor and air superiority.

Main structures:

  • Construction Yard (0) - Base construction
  • Geothermal Plant (1) - Base power
  • Refinery (1) - Processes collected Tiberium, adds 5000 to max. income
  • Garrison (1) - Infantry production
  • War Factory (1) - Vehicle production
  • Comm Station (1) - Unlocks map display and Tier 2 structures
  • Airfield (2) - Aircraft production
  • Armory (2) - Infantry research, unlocks Tier 2 infantry
  • Tech Center (2) - Advanced research, unlocks Tier 3 units and structures
  • Central Command (3) - Advanced research, produces Clone Commando
  • Crane (1) - Additional construction queue, cannot construct Tier 3 base defenses or other cranes

Support structures:

  • Watchtower (1) - Cheap garrisonable structure
  • Laser Turret (2) - Anti-vehicle
  • Point-Defense Turret (2) - Anti-aircraft base defense
  • Silo (1) - Tiberium containment structure, adds 2000 to max. income
  • Beam Turret (3) - Advanced base defense, can switch between anti-vehicle and anti-aircraft
  • Electro-Proton Bomb Launcher (3) - Superweapon, launches a tactical warhead that immediately destroys all but the biggest vehicles, aircraft and structures in the target area and releases an EM shockwave one third larger that paralyzes infantry and vehicles while dealing additional shock damage, all for 10 seconds
  • Surveyor (1) - Base expansion vehicle, deploys into a Forward Base

Infantry:

  • Clone Trooper Squad (1) - Anti-infantry
  • Rocket Squad (1) - Anti-vehicle/aircraft
  • Clone Engineer (1) - Lightly-armed, captures and repairs structures and bridges
  • Detonator Squad (2) - Anti-infantry, can clear garrison
  • Heavy Weapons Squad (2) - Anti-infantry/aircraft, equipped with rotary cannons
  • Shadow Trooper Squad (3) - Stealth unit, anti-infantry
  • ARC Trooper (3) - Anti-infantry, can call air strikes on vehicles, detects stealth
  • Clone Commando (3) - Can switch between multiple attack modes, detects stealth

Vehicles:

  • BARC Speeder (1) - Anti-infantry
  • TX-130 Assault Tank (1) - Anti-vehicle
  • RX-200 Beam Tank (2) - Anti-aircraft
  • Harvester (1) - Lightly armed, collects Tiberium
  • BX-620 Mobile Hospital (2) - Unarmed, can deploy into a stationary field hospital that heals infantry periodically in a moderate radius and fully replenishes wounded infantry squads when garrisoned
  • AT-AP (2) - Anti-vehicle/structure, can strike a targeted area in the field of vision of an ARC Trooper
  • AT-TE (3) - Anti-infantry/vehicle/structure, can be garrisoned, only 2 can be deployed at a time

Aircraft:

  • V-19 Torrent Interceptor (2) - Anti-aircraft
  • BTL-B Y-Wing Bomber (2) - Anti-vehicle/structure
  • ARC-170 Starfighter (2) - Anti-vehicle/aircraft, detects stealth
  • LAAT/i Gunship (2) - Anti-infantry, transports infantry
  • LAAT/c Carrier (3) - Unarmed, transports vehicles
  • PTB-625 Bomber (3) - Anti-vehicle/aircraft/structure, only 4 can be deployed at a time
  • Planetary Deployment Vehicle (2) - Deploys into a Construction Yard

That's it for the Clone Army. I'm a little preoccupied by the fact that the game (from the understanding I've garnered from it so far) won't allow me to differentiate between the troopers' Phase I and II armors depending on when some of the missions take place during the Clone Wars, so I might have to just say that the clones used the Phase II design right from the beginning of the war since it's an AU continuity anyway.

Next: the Confederacy of Independant Systems!
