The mod spans both eras and at current encompasses all 17 maps of the original Star Wars: Battlefront. You will get to play with new weapons inspired by the legacy of the entire franchise, such as the Shotgun, T-21 and A280C. Play your favourite battles from the original game in a new way: no two factions play the same.

Here are some of the features:

  • Choose your side and unit: each faction has uniquely-equipped units.
  • Content inspired by the cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront III and DICE's Star Wars Battlefront games.
  • Many new and reinvented weapons, such as the A280C, EMP Launcher, MPL and Homing Shot.

Phase 2, currently in progress, will also add new features, maps, heroes and weapons to the mod. Here is a list of upcoming features:

  • New maps: play all Battlefront II maps in Battlefront Legacy, as well as various user-created maps made compatible with Battlefront Legacy. For the first time in the original game, you will also be able to play maps from Star Wars: Battlefront III.
  • If you get bored of playing a foot soldier, play as a Hero or Villain in Heroes Vs Villains, or hunt down the enemy in Hunt.

In August 2016, I brought out a new mod for the original Star Wars: Battlefront. Titled "Star Wars: Battlefront Legacy", it was intended as a mod that celebrates all branches of the Star Wars: Battlefront franchise, from the original games, to the portable games, cancelled games, and even EA's games. It worked on only the stock version of the original game, so while it gave a fresh take on the five classes and vehicles that everybody has come to know, it was still restricted to the original lineup of maps, and it still featured only the original four heroes: Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Mace Windu and Count Dooku.

The mod went down well with audiences, but the intention of the mod was always to have the first 'Phase' as a base and then expand on that base with further 'Phases'.

These 'Phases' would bring the mod to maps new and familiar, such as maps back-ported from other Star Wars: Battlefront games. It would also bring in new heroes.

The time has finally come to announce that "Phase II" of Star Wars: Battlefront Legacy is currently underway. This "Phase" promises to bring several new features to the mod:

- New unit variations
- New and returning maps, including favourites from Star Wars: Battlefront II and maps never-before-seen in the original game, such as Coruscant from the cancelled Free Radical Star Wars: Battlefront III, as well as all-new maps made specifically for this mod
- New heroes and villains
- New weapons
- New vehicles

The completion and release of the first part of "Phase II", which will bring the maps from Star Wars: Battlefront II, will be later this year.

Hey, I run the game from "Star Wars: The Best of PC" disc to, the DVD patch doesn't seem to work for this version of the game.

0.95 has been delayed - in part because of a stubborn issue with Mustafar, and in part because there's two extra maps I want to add in before I release it.

A fix for the model issues that some players have been experiencing will be posted soon, hopefully some time later this week, as well as a couple of additional surprises that take us up to V0.95.

It's looking like the update will take a little longer, as I wanted to include a few additional maps in with the next update. So far, I have Sereja's City of Theed map working but there's more I want to add in.

This is a random question, I apologize if it's irrelevant, but I can't find any search results online. SWBF (2004) is my favorite of the four that are out. But the one thing that blocks it from perfection for me is that I can't change the spawn tickets and I feel matches are too short. I have the disk, is there any way I could tweak it?

No. Spawn tickets are fixed in each mission's script and the code is not there to alter it.

Why must large-scale mods only be for BF2? The first game still has a community.
