The mod spans both eras and at current encompasses all 17 maps of the original Star Wars: Battlefront. You will get to play with new weapons inspired by the legacy of the entire franchise, such as the Shotgun, T-21 and A280C. Play your favourite battles from the original game in a new way: no two factions play the same.

Here are some of the features:

  • Choose your side and unit: each faction has uniquely-equipped units.
  • Content inspired by the cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront III and DICE's Star Wars Battlefront games.
  • Many new and reinvented weapons, such as the A280C, EMP Launcher, MPL and Homing Shot.

Phase 2, currently in progress, will also add new features, maps, heroes and weapons to the mod. Here is a list of upcoming features:

  • New maps: play all Battlefront II maps in Battlefront Legacy, as well as various user-created maps made compatible with Battlefront Legacy. For the first time in the original game, you will also be able to play maps from Star Wars: Battlefront III.
  • If you get bored of playing a foot soldier, play as a Hero or Villain in Heroes Vs Villains, or hunt down the enemy in Hunt.

In August 2016, I brought out a new mod for the original Star Wars: Battlefront. Titled "Star Wars: Battlefront Legacy", it was intended as a mod that celebrates all branches of the Star Wars: Battlefront franchise, from the original games, to the portable games, cancelled games, and even EA's games. It worked on only the stock version of the original game, so while it gave a fresh take on the five classes and vehicles that everybody has come to know, it was still restricted to the original lineup of maps, and it still featured only the original four heroes: Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Mace Windu and Count Dooku.

The mod went down well with audiences, but the intention of the mod was always to have the first 'Phase' as a base and then expand on that base with further 'Phases'.

These 'Phases' would bring the mod to maps new and familiar, such as maps back-ported from other Star Wars: Battlefront games. It would also bring in new heroes.

The time has finally come to announce that "Phase II" of Star Wars: Battlefront Legacy is currently underway. This "Phase" promises to bring several new features to the mod:

- New unit variations
- New and returning maps, including favourites from Star Wars: Battlefront II and maps never-before-seen in the original game, such as Coruscant from the cancelled Free Radical Star Wars: Battlefront III, as well as all-new maps made specifically for this mod
- New heroes and villains
- New weapons
- New vehicles

The completion and release of the first part of "Phase II", which will bring the maps from Star Wars: Battlefront II, will be later this year.

Very impressed. Balance seems to almost be spot on as far as I can tell from playing a map or 2.

This looks interesting~. ^^

Out of curiosity, does this mod add different clone legions to the game? I ask because I am currently using the Star Fire mod and it has different clone units depending on map. But this mod adds a more lore-accurate Dark Trooper, as well as more weapon variations.

Heya, loved this mod.
The redesigns of the characters are some good, tasty shiz. The factions no longer feel like reskins of each other. I also enjoyed gazing at the many new objects added to the maps, cause it makes me go "MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM yesssssss."
Heroes are a little wonky to play as, but my juices flow nicely when I spot Han Solo flailing in the distance, slaying them pesky stormtroopers instead of Luke Skywalker (though Luke still slaps some mean a## with his magic twink powers).
Thanks for your impressive work.

Hi there! I'm a big fan of this mod. There's one issue though. Some of the body parts of the units are missing. I played a few maps and I noticed it. The same has occurred to some of the vehicles like the Gunship. The game itself is still playable. It's just that sometimes I can't see droids so I get triggered when I randomly get killed. Overall the mod is fantastic to say the least. Hope you find a way to fix this problem so that I don't get rekt anymore. Great job and thanks for your work!

Apparently this was a bug with the 'model edit' application used to keep the game from rendering the low-res models often that doesn't appear often. It has been updated since and appears to work now for most people. Unfortunately this iteration won't be updated since Phase 2 Version 2 baxically almost starts from scratch (given it's going to be using a new mod I'm working on as its base).

First I want to go ahead and state that this is a pretty well done Mod for Swbf 1. - A lot of new units, including new textures and models. - Unique weapons inspired from Dice & EA's Battlefront. - A great use of the cancelled Swbf 3 assets such as vehicles and player models. - A more balanced gameplay in due to the diversity of playable classes. (except for the Dark Trooper assault cannon, wich is over-powered in my opinion) - No annoying bug/glitch So this mod gets an 10/10 for outstanding visuals…
