Looking very sexy! :)

Did you guys increase the radius around planets? or is it just the angle?

The basic scale of ships is actually smaller in the mod, which has the effect of making everything else look bigger (and allowing SSDs to be their proper size without overflowing the gravity well)

Please do not tell me it is game breaking size like it is for SoaGE...

The scale of the ships, they are pathetically small, and it is not fun to watch because of it.

The Sins zoom is, for our purposes, effectively unlimited (both in and out) and there's no frame of reference to compare the ships to except for each other, so what is it exactly the ships look pathetically small next to? I mean, you can see screenshots of EotH and NR fleets zoomed relatively close into them and that has just about the same frame of reference as you're ever going to have to judge their size, so do they look too big or small to you there?

He is talking about SoGE, not your mod, and he is hoping your mod will not be like that.

I know, I'm just asking what he considers pathetically small, and what his frame of reference would be for that considering all you really have to judge against is other ships

Well that's a larger fleet than anything I've seen in ICW. I look forward to such massive fights without lag. Good work guys.

So are their going to be Heroes? Like Thrawn, Vader, and Mon Mothma? or will they just be the pics for you race?

We haven't decided if or how we'll implement heroes. Definitely not Vader considering he's dead though.

Perhaps is the new ship the one above and left of the closest Phalanx?

I hope this mod doesn't exceed SoaSE's limit like SoaGE did.

Assuming you're talking about the memory limitation, there's some stuff we're doing to take that into consideration.

1. Ship rosters don't include more than they need to. We want enough to provide variety, but not so much that there's redundancy pointlessly taking up space. It averages out to us having around the same number of units as the base Sins factions; in some cases a few more, in some a few less.

2. Basic texture size optimization. In Sins, most textures could be as high as 1024x2048 and for some reason I'll never understand, tga. Ours tend to be 1024x1024 and we only use DDS, and some ships resuse the same ones (There's literally no reason why the ISDI, ISDII, Dominator, Immobilizer, Tector, etc need different textures; as long as they're UV'd properly, the basic trench and hull plating patterns are the same). As a result, in the same number of ships we theoretically should be saving more space than base Sins would. Also, some stuff can be shared between factions. The main thing here would be structures like the shipyards, which will be universal, and the Golans which are used by both the Remnant and New Republic.

I can't make any promises as to results here, and there'll need to be a lot of testing before we can say anything definitive, but I can assure you we're taking it seriously.

Description

As the New Republic and Imperial splinter groups fight for ascendancy in the known galaxy, the Empire of the Hand prepares to begin its bid to secure the galaxy against external forces.

There's a bunch of stuff we haven't shown ingame yet in this screenshot, and there are around 200 individual ships in it. See if you can find it all. We will be posting more closeup shots of each individual ship as we go.

There may or may not also be a completely new EotH unit which hasn't even been in ICW yet in this screenshot.

*Engine glow particles are still being made, hence their absence
