From the makers of Thrawn's Revenge: Imperial Civil War, Ascendancy is a Star Wars mod set after the Battle of Endor in the Star Wars Galaxy. Fight for galactic ascendancy as multiple factions from this period in Star Wars history.
We want to thank everyone for their support which led to us not only making the Top 100 with both Ascendancy and Imperial Civil War, but to Ascendancy getting 3rd place in the Upcoming players choice category. This is the highest either SWA or ICW has ever placed in MotY, and we could never have done it without the amazing support you've shown us throughout 2014.
This picture is meant to serve two purposes. The first one is to show you the new K-Wing model and skin. Secondly, we want you to use the comments to ask any questions you may still have about the mod, whether it applies to the upcoming 0.9 or you have questions about any content that's coming further down the road, or you feel like something wasn't properly explained in a news post. There'll be some things we can't answer fully, but I'll do my best to answer any questions you may have, and then we'll compile it and try to make an FAQ type thing.

The K-Wing is the pinnacle of New Republic bomber technology. Although rare and costly, squadrons of K-Wings pack a powerful punch that no fleet can afford to ignore.

Congrats on Making 3rd! What an accomplishment! I was wondering, I was playing Star Trek: Call to Arms 3, and they used a very clever way to use Hero Units in the game, given their unique way of doing it, could this possible be implemented in later versions? Or At all?
Thanks!
That system was actually created by Goafan77
Exactly correct. If you try E4X you'll see a more or less identical system there for heroes. We had our own system but it didn't work nearly as well as goa's and we were lucky enough that he agreed to help us out.
Eventually, maybe. We're honestly not super big fans of hero units, so what we intend to do is have them available 2 opt-in ways:
1. The flagship victory mode, in which you have one hero from the start and victory is based on them.
2. The Goa style which most mods (jncluding STA) use, although this will be done in a way that replaces the quick start option, and again, requires opting in.
Awesome!Thanks!
Do you guys have planes of taking feedback and balancing things particularly in multiplayer? My friends and I get pretty competitive when we play matches against each other and we stopped playing Sins of the Prophets and Sins of a Galactic Empire. In Sotp we would often just wind up fighter spamming/defense spamming often times in the late game and it got really annoying. This even happens in the base game for us sometimes and I would also like to inquire about it here.Generally speaking if both players are good at micro and have the same capital ship levels the biggest fleet wins. So why should we split our fleets up if we can just build a lot of defenses on the planet that leads to player 1 while we just take our fleet and kill player 2 on the other side of the map?
oh im sure there going welcome the feed back i mean not everying come's out right they may bave bug or what ever. i think this game going be so cool!
Sure, that's why we're releasing it how and when we are and using an iterative model, where we release patches pretty often and scale up the content as we go. We're making the mod because we want to play against each other in it, so balancing and making it not just "spam the biggest fleet" are pretty big concerns, although it's gthe kind of thing that requires tuning over time.
We've already mentioned some preliminary stuff we're doing to make it involve more strategy than just make the biggest fleet. If you don't keep up your supply, you won't be able to field fighters. If you don't collect or destroy escape pods as/against the NR, you're not going to be playign maximally. If you don't use and train fleet commanders, you're going to be behind in fights. There's no guarantee it'll work, but it's the type of thing we're trying and we're open to making whatever changes we can/need to to see the goals through. As we go on, we hope to expand into economic and cultural areas with these types of changes.
How is steam compatibiltiy going to work
SoaSE:R is only availabe on Steam in the first palce, so I'm not sure what you're asking.
We should get all the "wings" together and say the alphabet. lol
