This is the final rework of the faction selection screen, a hopeful upgrade from the previous version with a bit more colour and style to it.
(Text is still being altered to fit the new space)

Aside from the fact that there's literally only one ship we could do between those two factions, episodes 7-9 are part of the new Disney continuity, not the old Expanded Universe where the mod exists.
Would they be other imperial splinter groups? Beyond the various imperial factions, I can't remember what other options there are for new factions.
Yuuzhan Vong, possibly Zsinj? Not sure if he's unique enough to warrant a separate faction
