I might actually buy the game becouse of this mod. Well see how much better this is compared to Empire at War, i remember team saying this is highly moddable engine? So is one Empire at War uses.

Empire at War isn't actually especially moddable. Sins and EaW have similar moddability levels, however what is available for Sins fits much better with what we want to do.

I've been playing a lot of EaW and I would say that Im not a huge fan of unmodded Sins. However a modded Sins is probably 20 times better than EaW if its done right. :) I rly like the weak point system in EaW and that you call in your troops and stuff but in sins you take over systems and stuff which makes it last a lot longer and you dont get tired of it as fast as EaW. Im going to buy Rebellion as soon as Mass Effect Reapers at Dawn comes out and then Im going to wait for this and Stargate Invasion. 3 Great mods that will probably be released in 2013 hopefully. Can't wait!

New republic because they are the morally right. Well "most right" atleast. Thrawn second because hes a very cool guy and not so bad either. Or maybe thrawn first because hes just that cool. Hmm.

Empire of the hand, with completely badass ship designs (that frigate that doubles up guns on one side helped me so much) and they combine the best of Chiss+Empire styles and they're quite rational i suppose

Is there no Pentastar Alignment this time?
But I'm still looking forward to Acendancy. :)

We're doing the three core factions because a lot of the assets are complete, whereas for the PA more work would be needed. This allows us to focus more on gameplay, general mod theme stuff (UI, background art, etc). Then later once that's all set up, there's a few other options we have for additional factions, including the Pentastar Alignment.

Description

Thanks to all of your amazing support, both Ascendancy and Imperial Civil War have made it into the top 100 in the MotY awards for 2012, so here's something cool to look at as thanks from us. Let's see how far we can get.

Rather than just let this be something to look at, I'm going to make you all read too. We haven't really talked much about specific changes we plan to make in Ascendancy, however one thing we've been trying to highlight in development has been faction diversity. We want people to have a different experience and focus with each faction, and not just be a bunch of mirrored and reskined versions of each others. The goal is to have this in general playstyle as well as abilities, research and unit lists. Whether it's the smart deployment of the compact New Republic New-Class project ships backing up their cultural and diplomatic expansion, the overwhelming power of Imperial Remnant's superweapons, or the speed and innovation of the Empire of the Hand
