Release GAMMA

G'day Everyone!

I am today in the interesting position of announcing the re-release of Release Gamma, this time it's for the version of Homeworld 2 that is included in the Homeworld Remastered Collection!

Many members of the community have been upset to find that the standalone release here on Moddb is not compatible with the new version of Homeworld 2 (lets call it HW2C), this was expected but updating a couple of small things and fixing the bugs which were reported didn't take very long at all!

I would like to call out community member QuoNiam for submitting the most (and most coherent) bug reports. Thank you for your constructive comments and sharp eye :)

Things to note:

  1. This is a SHADER 2 RELEASE ONLY, there is no concession to people who need to use Shader 1
  2. The LCARS font is set as the one being used as we can only submit one *.big file archive
  3. There is NO LAUNCHER except the one provided by Gearbox, familiarise yourselves with it
  4. The Steam version of the mod is NOT COMPATIBLE with the Moddb version of the mod

I am hopeful that now multiplayer matches will be a feasible thing to consider, if there is information on this which needs to be disseminated for the community I will make another post here.

I have submitted the mod to the Steam Workshop, no idea when they will allow people to subscribe though.

The mod is now available for download! Click on the link below to get it :)

Steam

We will no longer be making any released for Homeworld 2, or Homeworld 2 Classic (well, maybe some bug fixes on HW2C if the need arises), so expect further updates to start appearing at the new mod page. Click on the picture below and follow!

I asked Rufus Shinra, the guy that is doing the Wing Commander 4 mod, how long it takes for approval and he said:

Normally, it's instant. Upload the stuff on your workshop, set the visibility to public and that's it.

What about the ppl who have he GOG version? We can't access the workshop obviously. There should be a seperate DL anyways since the game is now also available on GOG, with the same updates, so we are also on version 2.1 for HW2C.
