Isn't this the wrong model? I thought that those raised areas along the hull and the along the nacelles are indications of the Lakota Refit?

I don't know if Generations was filmed before that episode of DS9 or not, but the Enterprise B is the "earliest" Excelsior class ship with the extra elbow room below decks that was shown on screen.

You're correct. The Enterprise B has this kind of Engineering hull while later on (DS9 era) it is all smooth.

Yeah the standard Excelsior-type had flattened smooth edges but later in DS9 the USS Lakota (an Excelsior Refit variant) had the "extra elbow room" as Nathanius put it... I just had a quick look and it would seem that Generations was filmed before the DS9 episode (Paradise Lost), where the Lakota variant appears. It is interesting to note that throughout TNG the Excelsiors do not have those extra decks, but that a starship 70 years prior to it would look the same as a starship supposedly built decades afterwards.

the "b" has them as the model used in generations was the same as the excelsior model used in previous films, the extra bits were bolt on so they could be removed in case they needed the old model for another film. This is also why the size of the excelsior changes in TNG as the galaxy class stage model was not made to the same scale as the excelsior and they didn't want to make a new one, also why the Miranda and oberth at the end of generations looks out of scale

This is going to be awesome.

Are you going to model all your ships or use some from sources like bc?

I hope you use the pulsar effect for the old mk6 phasers. I tested this on a previous release and by having 2 fire alternatively from 1 had point gave a great WOK phaser look
