Hi, Nathanius ! Yesterday, I spotted that TMP Romulan Shipwards were really difficult to see in the distance and that they didn't have a rectangle tactical aura to see spot them from affar as the other ships yards have... Until now, it didn"t bother me, but seeing all the others with it and not these ones seems unfair, right ? As for the probe models, well; at least for TMP era you can give the same to the Klingon as the TNG ones since they usually don't bother fo such littke details... as probing is obviously not an honourable task ! Ha, for the images, I thought that I could post them on my own profile, good idea... As for the Steam release, how does it work ? Do you have to pay to create an account ? And off course, your Mod will be free ? Supplemental 5th March, Are you sure of the TMP Romulan freighter navigation? In SFC 1, the very same freighter was running the other way round with the wings at the rear. Yours is going with the wings at the front. I don't know which is right as you put reactor trails in a way that seems logical, but still... It may be SFC s version that could be wrong, I don't know. I also noticed that TOS Fed shipyards didn't have their tactical rectangle either unless you select the tactical display on full... as they are quite dark, it then should be easier to spot them on a dark space background. Plus, Check out my page to see some more screenshots. They sure are not as good as the ones you put in the game and the definition isn't hight enough for a loading sreen but, some of them still could be used as mission showcase picture boxes... Have a good week-end ! |

Hello QuoNiam! None of the shipyards have the Tactical Icon as a design decision, so it's not going to change For the probes, there are better examples and concept art than the kitbashed examples from before, so we have just made sure that there are scouts for every race and era in the meantime I'll check the Oberth out when I get home, should be able to close that hole easily I oriented the freighter with the thruster exhausts at the back, I agree that the model could be used either way around, but the engines don't lie Thank you for the screenshots! You've got some really excellent shots in there! I hope you have a good weekend too Edited by: Nathanius |

Hi Nathanius ! I was glad to help you with troublshouting the bugs. You said that no ship yards had a tactical overlay on normal display mode ? But sure the ENT Feds have them ! I saw it less that an hour ago. But since they are smaller bacause the ships ehy build are smaller than those of more recent eras, it may be normal ? I am sad to say that I can't play your new re-release since I should buy a new computer to play with the new HW Remastered series, I should buy one at some point but i don't know when, i have many other things to pay for in the coming year, so it could not be before a year ad half or so... So I won't be able to help you further for the time being... I don't kow what your future projects are, but once you have finished the Remastered version of STC, could think about a Starblazers / Space Battlship Yamato mod ? They are plenty of factions and units for a good gameplay potentially rivaling a good Homeworld... the ships are more sized like Star Trek ones, but still... Some units could even have a special ability (typing the Z key in HW2) or weapon like the fearsome Wave Motion Gun, so powerful but it still would keep balance since it depleats energy on the entire ship for at least five seconds, the ship can't move, fire or warp out in that timelaps... Modding that series into Homeworld Remasterd would be awesome as the units are beautiful in that series. But if you have something else to do or if you can't have authorizations for some files, I would perfectly understand... I was very happy to have Star Trek units in HW2 backgrounds as i wrote a long time ago an episode of my own custom Star Trek series in a crossover with HW2 universe ! My only regret in your mod (aside with the small tech-tree is that you can't play against the Hiigarans or the Vaygr (tough to balance I think and you malso mentioned game limitations when you were making Release BETA...) since the episode I wrote was featuring my custom crew's Prometheus class appraoching a Vaygr Mothhership. One of the crew memers got kidnapped when he was on a shuttle (much like Geordi Laforge in a TNG episode in 4th season when he was abducted by Romulans on his way to Risa and reprogrammed to kill a Klingon ambassador), and was held prisoner and tortured for questionning. The Prometheus class ship find the Vaygr but got EMPed before doing anything, so the captain took a shuttle, tractored a remote Vaygr ressource collector, took it back to the ship, and took the collector to infiltrate the Vaygr Mothership to search for their missing crewman... (in a Star Trek Elite Force 2 sort of way with that awesome assault plasma refile !) After finding him, they got away as the ships transporters were back on line end the ship went out of the nebula. I had plaaned for an other episode, much more epic with my Star Trek ship and crew helping out the Hiigarans in their quest (the HW2 Quest, I didn't have HW1 at the time) which could have been a two-part episode, unfortunately I stopped writing shortly afterwards... and I scrapped all my episodes (I had already wrote ten and had planned writing about fourty more, including one that could have been a Starcraft crossover...), so I can't tell you more about it... So may your journey in Remastered by swift and out of Harm's way, Godpeed ! Supplemental, March 9th, I noticed another bug, it seems that the Miklon and Surak ships tend to self-destruct on their own free will in the minute that follows their spawn in the game. It seems to happen only with the first of each class to be built in a game. I tried on several deathmatches and Homeworld2 classic maps to be sure it was not mistake from me of that there was no sneaking enemy ships in the vicinity of my base... I was not triyng to self-destruct other ships while it happened... My eye just got attracted by a spot of light coming from my base and I zoomed to investigate and I found that ships were self-destructing ! Perhaps you already spotted that bug and corrected it, but I thought to give you a notice, just in case... |

@QuoNiam There's too much to do with Remastered before we get going with other mods or games, Gearbox haven't made it easy... @LoveStone Are you able to play any other HW2 Classic mods? I would ask you to try using "-nomovies" in the command line but there is a bug with that at the moment which doesn't allow the commands to be passed through to the game The HW2.log is at *\Steam\steamapps\common\Homeworld\Homeworld2Classic\Bin\Release\hw2.log |

Dear Nathanius, I know that you have enough work already, it was just a way to express an old desire of mine. The only problem in that series I evocked is that there are no spatial facilities to build ships in, so it would come out the same way as a Flagship mode like in your mod where one command hip "builds" the others by making them warp in the map... You say that gearbox didn't make your modding job easy ? Crap, they said that they would do anything to make it easy for modders... Or perhaps that means that youmust start again from scratch. Have Faith, then ! (like in ENT opening titles, which so many people dislike !) |

Ok, so the meat of the issue is here: LUA 'data:LevelData\Multiplayer\INVASION_TNG.LUA' -- parameter: invalid control char; LUA 'data:ui/camera.lua' -- parameter: `=' expected; LUA 'Data:Sound/root.lua' -- parameter: expected; The curious thing is that line 1 of INVASION_TNG.LUA does not have "0x00" at all, it starts and ends with "GUID", similarly the last character read in the camera.lua file and the root.lua file in the sound directory are both finding characters which aren't there. I would guess that your copy of the *.big file has somehow been corrupted, you should unsubscribe from the mod, make sure that "STC_GAMMA.big" is deleted from your Steam folder (just do a Windows Explorer search to locate it before you unsubscribe and make sure) and then re-subscribe. Make sure that the download completes properly and then give the game another try |

Good evening, community! I am somewhat having the same problem. I reinstalled this game with the mod twice today, and still same problem that I cannot rectify. The original HW2 works just fine when I played it earlier today but when it comes to the Star Trek Continuum launcher...it will crash after it is loading into skirmish. I've also updated my graphics as well and that still didn't work. Here's my log file Mon Mar 23 22:56:27 2015 UTIL -- filepath failure, path doesn't exists 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Sierra\Homeworld2\data\locale\English' Uing ..profiles\ for profiles folder GAME -- Using player profile Player1 Changing from a 32 bit colour depth in winNT (6.2 build 9200), error executing GetAssumedLatestDll() in driverConfig.lua error executing GetAssumedLatestDllVersion() in driverConfig.lua error executing AdjustForBadDrivers() in driverConfig.lua Using Chain Studios (QeffectsGL 1.2)'s 4.5.0 NVIDIA 347.88 GeForce GT 640/PCIe/SSE2 renderer (Suspected driver is 0) SOUND -- created destination [ fdaudio ], handle [ 4 ] with [ 48 ] channels created SOUND -- created destination [ fda streamer ], handle [ 5 ] with [ 8 ] channels created Build name: Sajuuk-Khar - AutoBuild3498 - Ordered by smmatte Built by : mrbuild Data path : C:\Program Files (x86)\Sierra\Homeworld2\data No mapping for font 'GenericSubtitleFont' - using 'default' Resetting fp control word. Hi There Kelbie! You've got " -overridebigfile" in there twice, but I think that this is the real meat of the issue: parameter: attempt to call global `SetStartFleetSuffix' (a nil value) Looks like you've used the normal game mode and a randomly generated map, is that correct? What were all the other options you chose on the game setup screen? Stargazer, Line 155 in Deathmatch LUA is the first of the suffix selections for the race/era selection (as indicated by the error), this should be ENT Flagship mode |

Thanks for getting back to me. I will try and select the same mode as the launcher has it set. As for Ent, I'll change a different era and see if that will change anything. I'll let you know if it's the same issue. Thank you. Yeah, I am still having the same problem as before. Here's a picture of my launcher set up and show you what's on Thank you for supporting me in this difficult time haha! |

Of course... "Build name: Sajuuk-Khar" is HW2 1.0 I still recommend moving to the Steam version, if there are bugs found on that which we fix then we will still push updates for that even though we're working on the Remastered Version now |

@Nathanius I was using the first Gamma version, STC_Installer_GAMMA.exe. Will download the steam version and see if this problem persists. Thanks! |

Yes, because, the first version, for old HW2 game is really not working in Flagship mode wether race or era you select, as I think I mentioned to the Devs already. They corrected a ton of things for the Steam version, so try it ! But my system does not support recent version of HW2 and HWR, so I can't try the steam version ! |
