not really it requires way more strategy and planning then sins, I currently have 33 hours in it and you have to make sure you can win the war you are in and where to expand and when to expand, stellaris is basic sins on a galactic scale with empires in mind not small skirmishes.

Stellaris is great and very engaging, while some of the things about the mid game are true a large empire struggling for dominance has few of these issues and a star trek mod may well wipe away the rest. Viva last stellaris.
