It would actually be awesome to have a sort of mini-mod add-on that would make all ships have HH Shields. In my opinion, it seems more realistic and Star Trek-y.
It's relatively easy to do, but we're trying to stay on cannon (in so far as possible) with ships you regularly see. Most of those ships shown on the tv show(S) have the traditional spherical shield. You'll see them regularly though on some ships. the militia vessels and probably pirates will have HH shields.

That is a pretty good point. Could be a newer innovation applied to the Sovereign class.
Or they changed everything we saw before. In First Contact, Enterprise didn't have HH shields, and yet Nemesis has shown that he had. Questions, everyone?
bit late but also the viewscreen changed from holographic to normal. The changes were due to budgets (first contact could afford holographic screen) and what looks cooler (hull shields)
Perhaps HH shields ARE cool(yes, I like them better too), but if they made them oval before, then they should stay oval after. As for viewscreen, well, I do not care much about that part. If they could see normally, that's fine by me.
Didn't the Enterprise-E have HHS? Or is my memory of Insurrection that bad.
