"Gul Dukat hates them."

I was under the impression that Gul Dukat hated many things.

Nope. Just the Bajorans. He hates everything about them.

Other than that he's like a ray of sunshine.

They should really be thanking the Cardassians. If it was not for the guidance they provided, the Bajorans would not be the tenacious, free-spirited, and independent people they are today. True, perhaps we were heavy-handed at times, but what father can say he never overreacted to protect his children's well-being?

Description

Nearly a decade after the Cardassian withdrawal from Bajor, the Bajoran people are recovering and prospering once more, branching out to settle new worlds not as destitute refugees, but as builders, developers, scientists, and farmers. While Bajor will always be the sacred home of their people, many Bajorans are beginning to feel the wanderlust that is so common among space-faring cultures. As such, independent Bajoran colonies are starting to dot the region. These fledgling colonies are under the protection of the Bajoran Militia, who are under oath to guard their people against all threats. The men and women of the Bajoran Militia will lay down their lives to ensure that no Bajoran ever again suffers under the heel of occupation.

While their ships and technology appear quaint by the standards of the major powers of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, many officers in the Militia are veterans of the Resistance against the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. These exceptional commanders are experienced, brave, cunning and doggedly determined. They are not to be underestimated.

Gul Dukat hates them.
