"Divert shield power to weapon!" Possibly a Klingon tactic?
Shields were useless anyway. Having more power to weapons meant trying to take them down before they could hit more.
Given the number of innovative, outside-the-box solutions the Enterprise-D orchestrated, wouldn't that suggest that a Galaxy-class starship captain would consider any number of other options, given their ship's capabilities? However, a Klingon warrior would be all about that weapons output, and given the Starfleet/Klingon officer exchange program, one that Commander Riker participated in, it wouldn't surprise me if such tactics found their way around.
The problem in this encounter was that Starfleet grossly underestimated the Dominion's technology and the Jem'Hadar's combat prowess. They were rightly confident in the abilities of a Galaxy class starship but weapons that could cut right through their best shields came as a complete surprise. And of course, in Star Trek no ship, even a Galaxy class, will last long in combat without effective shields.

Hype! you guys are doing a great job on this mod! just wondering though, what happend to the rhode island? i guess that if you implement it, it will replace voyager?
I don't know about the Rhode Island specifically, but there are a fair few model updates to come later, in a separate update/s.
It has been suggested. Do not lose hope, it may appear yet.
It would not replace Voyager though.
