Return to the Zone in S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Wormwood, a high-difficulty survival-oriented realism modification for GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat. Wormwood builds upon the core Stalker experience, enriching the latest in the cult game series with brand new survival mechanics, intense and realistic gunplay, new missions, levels, fleshed-out building interiors and much, much more.
Day 4 of Wormwood Week brings another brand new feature...
Cooking!
Using new equipment, become a chef and turn found ingredients (such as mutant parts) into consumable items to ensure your continued survival in the Zone.
Whether you're cooking on an open campfire or with a portable stove, there's plenty of recipes to learn to sate your appetite.
We feel cooking fits well as a feature into the game’s survival-oriented gameplay, and you can now subsist purely on hunted meat (although at risk of irradiation), if you so wish!
The blood sucker will know what is like to be the prey, like he was in misery >:D .
Note that some icons are programmer art; that potato, for instance, will be replaced with a render of a lovingly modelled high-poly spud just as soon as we can find the time.
A high-quality potato! Man, this keeps getting better and better :P
Well, now beard won't force me to buy his old rotten bread for 2000 rubles :3
An unrelated question : You guys did added sleeping bags right ?
Will Wormwood implement thirst?
Keep following Wormwood Week - we have plenty more features to announce!
So we're getting hunger and thirst. I hope it will follow realistic timings, such as just having a mild hunger after a day without eating rather than being on the verge of death like we could see in other mods. Speaking of which, is time scale configurable?
This is all come from personal experience messing around with the configs. Take these as you will. Time scale is configurable even in vanilla. Look for alife.ltx, open it and look for "time_factor" and "normal_time_factor". But bear in mind, changing these values will cause severe consequences on time-based events, such as using medkits/bandages.
Say, you set your time to real time, 1m in-game = 1m real life, when you use a medkit, since the default value was 10, the medkit will now heal 10 times slower. This is also applied to hunger, using a value of 1 will make Degty hungry in real-time, not in-game time, so you can starve to death while sleeping lol (sleeping for 8 hours = 80 hours since time flow 10 fold slower compared to default hunger time).
In sort: if you want to change the time scale, be ready to mess around with lots of other configs.
Now, if you could only make all this 4D.. THAT would be awesome!
Imagine smelling the food while you cook it and tasting it while you eat it!
LOL
J/K!
because potato
