Testing out 'during-the-day' godrays. Designed to be atmospheric for indoor environments but not overpowering, and barely noticeable outdoors. What do you think?

I think it presents quite a decent balance. Going overboard for the sake of it seems to be quite trendy lately, but really doesn't add much of anything.
They also impact performance a bit as well, so it's the trick of finding a good balance between that, atmosphere, inside-vs-outside levels and suchlike.
