S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl 1,0006 may have been an incomplete game and over time the Community has been creating numerous mods to make the game more exciting. With ZRP it is possible for lovers of the Vanilla version to be able to play the game with bugfixes, and some news without having to change textures, animations, etc...

SoC Vanilla 2.0, is a version 2.0 of the latest patch 1,0006 plus ZRP 1.07 RC5 The difference is that Vanilla 2.0 will bring a complete Shadow of Chernobyl without changing textures, without changing the story line but will bring a package of news and implementations leaving as much Vanilla as possible.

Weather

Shadow of Chernobyl features a limited climate system. Vanilla 2.0 will bring a dynamic mood to bring a feeling of Living Zone:

  • Each map will have its own weather system.
  • New skyboxes.
  • New sounds for rain and storm.
  • New Particles and Effects.
  • Dynamic weather and climate change as the player progresses through the story.
  • Wet Surface Effect.
  • Fog in thunderstorms.

Textures


Noteworthy how low the textures of Shadow of Chernobyl are, Vanilla 2.0 will not replace those textures but will improve them:

  • Improve all game textures without replacing them.
  • Replace current pixels to 2k
  • Improve lighting.
  • Improve UV mapping.
  • Mutant textures will get a special touch (makes them more hurt)

Bug Fixes


Patch 1,0006 was not enough to make Shadow of Chernobyl the perfect game, but thanks to modders the ZRP "Zone Reclamation Project" was created and in Vanilla 2.0 ZRP 1.09 will be used.


Sound


This mod replaces most sounds and keeps a few but has received a talent in all of them:

  • Gun sounds have been replaced for realistic sounds.
  • The eat, drink, bandages action now has new sounds for each action.
  • Most ambient sounds have been replaced.
  • All characters by default speak Ukrainian (By default is enabled but can be disabled)

User Interface


Vanilla 2.0 has a much more acceptable HUD than SoC 1,0006:

  • Life counter, costume condition, stamina counter, ammo counter, mini map have been replaced.
  • All UI is based on Call of Pripyat.

Free Play


If the player finishes Vanilla 2.0 making the good ending, the Free Play option is unlocked, "but" ... numerous challenges will be available for the player to enjoy a few more hours playing Vanilla 2.0, I have also separated numerous sidequests that will only be unlocked in Free mode. Play for the player to have fun. There will also appear some new characters with some specific quests.


Stalker SoC Vanilla 2.0 does not have a specific release date, but I have been working on the mod since September 2019 and have a lot of results at hand.

I promise that near the official release, I will release a DEMO version showing the results of mod.

Vanilla 2.0 Weapons Changes

I've been testing the new weapons list that I would implement in Vanilla 2.0 for a few days now.

Including the plan to put weapons with seal, (Old), (Standard), (Military) and (New), I used the blender program to separate the new textures for the same .ogf models. But I ended up changing my mind because I think it would be a waste of time to put all those same existing weapons with different varieties in the same mod, and it would be very boring just to see you taking the same ak74 knowing that the only thing that changes is its texture and property.

I searched deeply in the GSC forums and also in Russian forums about some very stable weapon pack and found one and ended up testing it in a pirated SoC however with the 1.0004 patch. I played it for a few hours testing almost every weapon and came to the conclusion that this is the perfect pack to implement in Vanilla 2.0

But not everything that looks good is easy to do. This mod with all these weapons and remodeling of the original SoC weapons was made for version 1.0004 and there are also 12 new scripts that if placed and replaced by the existing scripts in Vanilla 2.0 is 99% absolute certainty that the game will crash.

These new scripts some of them have calls in the scripts bind.stalker.script, xr_motivator.script, but the problem is that these calls are not present in 1.0006 nor in the mod ZRP 1.07RC.

My job to implement this weapon pack will be:

  • Redo all calls and even new scripts to be compatible with Vanilla 2.0;
  • Rearrange the entire merchant's Sales inventory so that these weapons can be available for sale;
  • Fully organize the .xml file that makes Npcs use these weapons by rank;
  • I will redo all the damage, handling, weight, cost, etc ... of all these weapons;

It will not be an easy job, and at the moment I will not start with this edition for now. I am finishing the costumes part and after that I will start editing the properties of the mutants.

I apologize to everyone who was waiting for that weapons issue I mentioned.

Tenho algumas perguntas:

1- Vai rodar nas configurações originais do jogo?
2- Terá um menu de spawn (Para testar coisas depois que a campanha for completa?)
3- Terá uma tradução para PT (Brasil/Portugal)?

Gostei da idéia do seu mod.

*1: Sim, o jogo está sendo feito a partir das texturas originais, e as novas texturas implementadas irá seguir o padrão de SoC Vanilla 1.0006. A única coisa que eu irei fazer é implementar novos Shaders e as texturas 2k e 4k vai ser opcional e não um padrão do mod.

*2: Infelizmente não tenho a ideia de implementar um Menu Debug Spawn, testes com itens novos, armas novas, enfim... partes adicionais do mod estou testando dentro do SDK 0.4

*3: Descrição de todos os itens está sendo feita a partir do vocabulário português e passada para o Inglês, resumindo minha resposta... Sim o mod vai estar disponível em Inglês e Português Brasil.

The German will cause CTD in the mod. Because it caused lack of description lines in the .ltx files
