Full concept MODIFICATION of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat that touches every game aspect including textures, sfx, music, weapons, A.I., items, weather, mutants, difficulty and much much more!
Now before the classic debate is revived let's just state this:
To our knowledge the X-Ray engine does not allow or support that some parts of the screen is zoomed in while the peripheral vision stays natural.

We remain open to constructive criticism of optics and reticle designs.
We also added the New Ordnance versions of the scopes to the mod, so they come in "New", "Worn" and "Damaged" profiles.
We're still open to feedback so let us know what you think! Hope you like the designs, much thanks to Spetsnaz_Reaper for helping us with the background history on these scopes! And Nic for the designs of the scopes :)

Also, like nic said on the previous image, thanks for the great response on the dragons joke. I personally expected to have more positive than negative feedback, and you guys prove my point! It's an awesome community we have! So again, thanks from the team for your dedicated support, we will try and keep you guys totally involved into the development of the mod :)
Cheers!
I think I like it, even Ceano would be jelly.
Thanks :)
And I'd like to add another thanks to Kyle_k_ski. He, with his enormous amount of military knowledge, made clear to us that reticles with red, white, black or green colors might get lost in the environments and it's background, so he took an official purple color code to use as reticle color on some scopes. We've tested this in game and it really does make the difference!
Cheers again! Have a good one, stalkers!
What about adding red dot sights?
Well, this is another type of aiming equipment that involves new models, attachment scripts and a few other ltx expansions. We didn't go into that for upcoming version
I hope other optics are in the team's long-term vision. I would love to find and mount a kobra sight on my Kalashnikov.
yeah the scopes look amazing compared to the vanilla scopes, and even 1.0. Are the current red dots that come attached to certain guns in 1.0 going to stay or did they get scrapped? I used the FAR-15 so much you'd think it was attached to my hip
They will stay. We just didn't make any new/extra ones
Oh come on, again just new textures, I can draw it myself, you are the most advanced team so where is the problem, I know you want stay in MISERY but it is 2012, isn't it?
Why create something new if it's been fixed already? Ironsight alignment has been fixed on the eotech models, so they work properly now :) no need for new textures on those

Thanks, Loner1.
So with this upload we are back on track with what the MISERY dev team feeds on:
an honest interest and respect for the STALKER series and everything this gem holds.
MISERY 1.1 received quite a lot of criticism for its scope designs and here we are doing our best to improve on yet another aspect of the game. Feedback welcome as always.
I wonder what the twilight/nv scopes and "thermal" scopes will look like!
Also, if it's not too much, I would like a nice SUSAT:
Upload.wikimedia.org
And if possible an AUG:
Youtube.com
Hickok45 has some really interesting videos on weapons. Does a nice mix of military and civilian/antique. He even does a video on a Makarov!
See the description :)
Well done indeed.
I didn't like the scopes in 1.1, too little periphery, but this now looks fantastic.
For me as Sniper I guess it'll be the ultimate objective to find the TRG. Where will it be located? In stashes, are traders selling it or special ordering by Nimble? We will find out in 2.0.
I especially like the "glass" framing the scopes, making it more believable to zoom with.
So no critics, but another awesome feature.
TRG is 'rare' but is not 'unique' (unlike The Green Dragon). So some hi-ranked NPCs (appearing later on in the game) sport TRGs from time to time (its also available at weapon dealers on high progression tier).
Ah, thanks for the reply. Let's shoot some exo-stalkers...
or gun down a loner artifact hunter ! ;-)
They look absolutely gorgeous :D
you really went to town on variety for 2.0 and i adore you guys for it ^^
to me it is not just becuz the scopes are awesome...im excited to hear it would be available as new, worn and damage....this is going to be awesome
Yeah. Plus they are made 'default' for certain gun profiles also in therms of AI: that means that whenever an NPC has a 'worn' or 'rusty' weapon profile and has scope on it - it'll be appropriately 'worn' or 'damaged' version.
How far 'into the future' will you be going with scopes? Will there be realtime 'LCD' displays showing ranges and wind speed and the like? Automatic zooming? Automatic white adjusting? Low-light/Infrared vision filters?
We will be going no further than what vanilla did having some NV scopes.
If anything MISERY strives to make use of the raw and simple things.
Like offering a broken glass PSO-1 for the poor and muddy Zone man who needs his expensive imported meal to stay alive.
I'll only add to that for the first time ever there's actually a point in using NV scopes.
This is because 'they have their own power sources' and will not drain your UPD as helmet-mounted NVDs do.
So they finally constitute a reasonable alternative - also considering the purchase pricing policy.
^^ Added value to the micro management aspects of the game ;-)
i never used an nv scope :-p
While on the topic of sights, has the LR300's peep sight finally been done justice? It always irked me the way that GSC had the front sight post well over the top of the rear sight.
Yes, 0800 did a magnificent job of correcting iron sights for pretty much every single weapon in the mod.
And he also did this for the 4:3 formats just because...
Ура! Спасибо!
I hope you will make proper PSO-1-1 and PSO-1M2-01 for VSS and AS "Val".
Dic.academic.ru
I2.guns.ru
Yes. This has been done.
Great! Finally, I will be able to see proper aiming grid. Thanks for attention for this detail! For firearms fan like me it's a relief!
I saw those and had to direct them to the team, after legit verification of Spetsnaz on these 2 scopes. :)
I assume the built in scopes for the F2000 and G36 will have their unique optics/display too?
These two are actually somewhat unconfirmed in current state.
If you can direct me to the authentic source of their real life reticle design we will make sure that they will.
Upload.wikimedia.org That's probably as close as I could find that's not bias'd towards a particular style of a game. Though really that's about the same as the default one in game.
Thing about the G36 is it has multiple optics on its standard rail and unit. Not sure if that's going to be incorporated into the game or not, or if its even possible, but definitely something to look into.
We cannot do multiple choice optics for the G36 scope but you can consider this one done for the G36 in MISERY 2.0
He means the standard G36 in its Stock Military config has ascope and a red dot sight instead of what something like the AUG has where it has the scope and a Emergency CQB iron sight on the scope
This is my favorite trijicon reticle Trijicon-inc.com
So that is the only change I recommend merely on personal preference
It's not preference, if you can find a weapon in game (for example, if my M416 was in misery and would have the Trojicon as attachement) we would consider adding the real life reticle to that scope. Not like slap a nice reticle on a model that doesnt use it in real life :)
Cheers!
Look at 1:45 here: Youtube.com
We will simply assign this Trijicon reticle design suggestion for the optics of the M4A1 then
So it was a good suggestion then?
that's cool, I liked the M4A1's sight in the teaser but I think I will like jackrabbitslim's suggested sight even more :)
Yes! We found a weapon with a matching reticle! :)
A correct PU reticle in STALKER, finally, thats just great!
hey guys. i thing you did a mistake. the winner was Information about a new feature added for realism/immersion not hud
That's correct, but it was an April Fool's joke that we hoped would win the poll.
Second place was 'info about a new mutant' which was also an April Fool's joke (this time in disguise)
Third place was this HUD (part 2) which is legit and for real.
Everything went down exactly as we had hoped for.
Now we are back on track with serious business
Watch the edges of your scope markings, some of them flash to white for a pixel before falling off into transparency (most noticeable on the RPG-7 example). Should be able to fix it by expanding the reticle markings by 1 or 2px, and leaving the alpha map as it is.
THIS...IS....AWESOME ! keep up the serious business, and it's okay for some joking from time to time,. ;-)
i liked the dragon idea ! even it's just a joke,.
peace,.
