Misery 2.2 is closed for additional content and the team is actively at work polishing and testing the release, however, we always welcome new constructive ideas and suggestions for the future. Please use this space for suggestions and input for future features or refinements. We will monitor the page and after 2.2 is released we will review submissions and solicit opinions on which the community most desire.

Jasper, I know you've seen my thread "hardcore mode" but i dont't know if you've seen the latest posts. Odizzido I think his name was had some great ideas and is making a mini mod with those ideas, it's basically finished if I understood correctly he is just waiting for the update but you or someone from the development team should check it out. Perhaps it could allow you to focus on other things for the 2.2 if you had any plans on something like that.

I do read every post made on the forum even if it's not a subject I have personal interest in. Odizzido has done great work in the past and I look forward to his next mini-mod. I'm sure there will be flood of user generated refinements after 2.2 is released. There are always prior ideas on the back burner which are not publicly released until we are certain they will work out and be included down the line. Besides, we always want to save a few surprises for release day :D Keep those ideas coming!

I just want to clarify, you want to see a nice bolt action animation where if you were using iron sights or scope you would remove view from sights and watch the whole bolt action animation during reload?

Exactly. In 2.1.1, we remove view when we reload. I would like to remove view between each bullet (like I do IRL when I hunting rabbits).

You might want to mention this to mp5lng at TAZ (The Armed Zone). He might consider it for 2.2 update for TAZ and he does most of the weapons work.

If you can get hold of it, Jacob Kirkegaards 4 ROOMS would be perfect as ambient background noise.

It's made in Pripyat where he recorded four empty rooms for 10 min. No voices or music, just the sounds of the Zone. He then replayed that recording in the same empty room and recorded that, and repeated that process many times. The result is some eerie 'vibrating' sounds, that sound very similar to the ambient background noises already present in Misery.

It'd fit right in without sounding much different from the existing sounds, and would be sounds from the actual Zone.

That's brilliant! It would be really cool to get a hold of the original 10 minute recordings and use the finished product in some of the creepier locales.

EDIT : Oh, and I totally endorse return of original CS1 and CS3a. CoP version of CS1 (but named CS3a oO) is ugly.

I'd like to see armour anomaly protection upgrades and Freedom armours give better protection from anomaly damage types, particularly acid and toxins. Right now the extra protection these bring is so tiny that it has no real effect when inside Misery's much deadlier anomalies.

I'd quite like to see the Duty and Freedom versions of SEVA suits made available. Duty would be more damage resistant, and would be a good combat option for Recon characters. Freedom would have better anomaly resistance, nearly as good as a Scientist Suit. Maybe for Recon games only make these the final Duty/Freedom rewards, replacing the heavy armour they normally offer.

I wonder if the game engine can handle illuminating flares? An inexpensive flare gun would be quite useful early on as a poor man's night vision. I know the Skadovsk sends up flares when there's a blowout, not sure if they're dynamic light sources.

I'd also suggest to remove the lowest tier of weapons that have tags like (worn) and (neglected). I think they're rather redundant. They're not worth buying or repairing, and the game already uses a weapon health bar to represent a weapon's condition.

1. I also would like it if the "Worn" and "Neglected" weapon tier to be straight out removed.

I usually found them in broken condition and fixing them would be kind of worthless since there are already better versions, and the better versions taken from enemies are still broken as all heck most of the part.

I ended up just selling all of them, even the ones that look like they're in good condition, since i know their stats are lower which means more ammo wasted, they'll also jam often anyway and Owl doesn't seem to want them in any condition, upgrading them is right out what with the larger tier upgrades being locked for them.

Besides, i'm pretty sure that removing those would probably give some extra FPS's and less CTD probabilities for the weaker low-end PCs.


2. Green Zone, while i liked Misery's features, the overall brown dead look of the Zone in Misery isn't really good IMO, i heard Absolute Nature Lite can be used, but i fear if any problems may arise.

What i'd like to see is a mode where traders dont have weapons/ammo/kits, the only thing they'd sell is batteries and armor and stashes (to organize your found loot). They'd still buy everything but your spending opportunities are limited to other stalkers/armors/nimble.

In exchange the drop chances for repair kits and ammo is slightly higher.

I play like this pretty often, and it is very fun and totally doable. Maybe as an adition to black road?

I'd like to see more variety in how Snorks, Izloms, Burers and Controllers look. Even just recolours of the vanilla textures would be fine, but a few more radically varied retextures would be even better.

@Cataca I have been playing Beta all day from Sniper start without buying anything. I only sell and pay for repairs or upgrades. I will have to buy one weapon from Nimble for storyline. So far, I have used only new features and what I have found. I haven't needed to buy/sell to NPC's yet, I'm saving their cash for later when I may need to sell to them. It's easier to choose to play without using certain items than to customize all the inventories for every flavor of preference. I would say a minimod limiting all traders except maybe Nimble from selling would be a much easier thing for someone to do.

Good ideas all ... keep them coming :D

Oh yeah, about the bloodsucker lair mission...

Is it possible to remove the high places where you can't get attacked by the bloodsuckers?

So you actually have to either use the gas or confront them directly.

I support this, killing the same Controller makes it abit weird, maybe change pants color? :D


What I suggest is that, if you do an animation, an 3D object will appear (bottle) insteat of some head-shaky animations, a good representation of this is this video: GUNSLINGER mod [S.COP] reload & reload_empty animations

A diffrent idea is that you can pay a guide/body-guard/tour that is most of the time aviable and will take you to places for a fee, cause waiting/searching for a group of stalkers you need in help for really hard things (chimera,iron forest) takes as long as goin to those places and dying over and over.

Agreed :D Using the terrain to your advantage is the idea. I jump on top of the valves before turning the gas on and either have fun tossing grenades or just put them out of their Misery.

@Roman, I never follow others around. I do help them collect personal effects (to preserve them for loved ones) when I happen to pass a battle.

I never even noticed Controllers wear pants ... I just aim for the face. Should we make all the mutants have natural camo for the areas they are spawned in? Scary. Now where did I put my axe?

Suggestion: Ammo Micro managment.

Make empty magazines for all guns and detach them from main gun inside shop or inventory. And attach them to gun when its loaded. Add a "refill clip" option to all magazines. When pressing refill clip it starts to play a sound of refilling a clip. Audioblocks.com

Then the screen goes black as it takes time to refill the ammo. The ammo counter on the ammo box goes down while the clip counter fill up depending if you have enough ammo in the box.

I wonder if this is possible to apply to NPCs to, if they also can go out of magazines and ammo, and need to hide to refill. This would be a cool feature in any game. Never seen it before.
