So if your companion dies you get the loot from his body, right?
Apparently not. After testing this by giving a squad mate gear then killing them, only some of the items were on the corpse.
Still, so long as one is aware of the limitation, this is a great mod. I am very much enjoying it but am also careful to save often.
Even more than the loot, you see when trading with him, e.g. parts for armor upgrades or pda´s
I thought he was wondering if the loot you place on the NPC will be there if they die, perhaps I misunderstood though.
No you're right, I meant the loot you give your companion. Thanks for testing it, looks like I've gotta be careful with my companion.
Yeah but they are not going to be careful with themselves, they always kamikaze something bigger
I guess it depends on your play style, I've yet to have any problems. Typically I command the follower to use stealth and wait if I'm going to scout a potentially dangerous area, then return for them when it's safe. Treat them like a green rookie and you should be okay. Oh and save lots, always a good idea - it is Stalker, after all.
make sure you set their combat stance to defensive, not that it helps that much lol
I have found this mod allows me to select the weapon my follower will use. They will not use something they have no ammo for, despite the fact that they don't actually consume it. So one can simply remove ammo for any weapon they are carrying if you don't want them using it. Same as Fallout 4, I suppose. Awesome side benefit to this add-on.
Oh also they WILL pick up weapons from the ground if they have no ammo for those in their inventory, even if you have set them to not collect stuff.
