Simply put this is a mod collection rather than a mod itself, I've grown tired of reinstalling mods and fiddling with them until I can find a working setup that doesn't crash five minutes into the game. So I have built this, ready out of the box installer that will install all my favorite mods, ready to be played without interruption.
Simply run the installer and then point the directory to where the EXE of stalker is located, the installer will attempt to fine the location itself, the file path should look like this at the end:
...\steamapps\common\Stalker Call of Pripyat
and not like this:
...\steamapps\common\Stalker Call of Pripyat\Stalker Call of Pripyat
When installing double check the target directory. Select parent directory, ex: "x:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\" for Steam installation or "x:\GOG Games\" for GOG installation.
X = drive letter where you copy of CoP is installed.
^-----------------------------------Give thanks to Lol3r_86 for this-----------------------------------^
The new version now has a working uninstaller. Simply run the uninstall.exe from the parent folder. Or run the uninstaller from the control panel. Use Steam or GOG to verify the games integrity and download any missing files.
Delete the folders Bin and Gamedata, then you can remove the program from the control panel uninstall software section. As it stands it cannot be uninstalled automatically for reasons I do not yet know. You can then use Steam to verify the game and re-download the missing files or you can save a backup of the game files to copy back in.
I don't like mods that drastically change the way the game works, I think STALKER as a base game is near to flawless as a game, I feel no need to adjust large scale mechanics; no sleeping bags, no drug running or extra factions, no expanded open map, no major (*cough*MISERY*cough*) and unrealistic amps in difficulty. Just a pretty, smoothly running, vanilla STALKER with some much-needed quality of life adjustments.
K, I mean... Saves you time downloading... And installing... And setting up and ensuring compatibility... And testing for early crashes. Up to you man.
The major issue is compatibility, it can be such a pain to ensure the game will run without crashing because the weapons you have don't like the texture on that wall so for the most part no. However, if you believe that there are some much-needed mod additions that would aid the game please inform me and I'll take a look.

No crashes, nice merge. Issue with your software, i put in 50 primary and secondary ammo (for Mosin and p99) and i got 1000 rounds for each in game. Also got 9x18 ammo for secondary even tho walther p99 is 9x19
The number relates to the amount of ammo stacks you get. Each ammo type has a different stack value for example the Mosin is 20 per stack so putting a value of 3 will provide 60 rounds. Also thanks for revealing the p99 is 9x19 I'll change that when I can.
Its a bit of an issue I can't do much about because it would require me to go through every single weapon in the list. (I intend on adding every weapon in the game to the software so close to 200 weapons) in order to check its stack value weapon ammo type. I searched each weapon on google to find the ammo type but weapons can support more than one ammo type. The p99 does support both 9x18 and 9x19 according to google so I had to roll dice. Again thanks for the info and ill change it when i can. For now selling the excess ammo or dropping it will be the best solution obviously. Also if I find the time I may just test every single one as I couldn't find a list on the internet or Stalker wiki.
Sorry for the inconvinence.
Ah, thanks for the information. I didn't do any reading on your software so sorry if you explained how numbers and stacks work, i just assumed it was ammo value you want.
No. no/ I haven't actually put that info anywhere, so it's my fault. But I do however plan on putting tooltips and the like in due time. I just wanted to Iron out the actual features of the program first. The graphics settings are taking longer than expected due to the nature of the User.ltx files.
Hey, so... the mod is great, perfectly what i'm looking for - graphical and equipment overhaul. I'm having some problems tho - game crashes so frequently that it is basically unplayable. Crashes occur when loading save, fast-traveling, almost always when nearing Skadovsk and also in random. Apart from that there are frequent freezes and framedrops. I have no clue where is that coming from as i have a very good PC and for example Misery runs with no issues
Still have issues man? If you did have previously installed mods you can link them and I'll see about implementing them. Also if you need to find the crash log they're under the _appdata_ folder which is under the main directory. Not the user directory.
No, i simply reinstalled it and the crashes are gone (not totally but they occur very rarely now). Frame drops still happen sometimes but I think it might be caused by me running the game in 3440x1440 resolution rather than order issues.
By "fast travel" I meant asking a random NPC in the world where is he going and if you can go with him, or asking him to take you somewhere for money.
In general- everything is fine, runs good, mods are working great. The only issue (serious one tho) related to AO mod that I've seen is that you cannot order guns from the guy on top floor of Skadovsk, you buy them from his inv in a regular fashion - thus making the mission with Snag (him accusing you of the gun being stolen and trying to scam you, then stealing contents of your locker in Yanov) impossible to trigger. That might be beyond your capabilities in the mod but it is worth taking a look at.
It's not a bug but by design from the AO mod, not sure why they had chosen to do that, you'd have to ask the Mod Devs of Arsenal Overhaul, it's a meh mission and by no means ruins the game. But yeah, blame them, but since it's no longer being developed I imagine we won't be seeing any responses from them. (I might take a closer look soon but no promises, not sure where I'd start except maybe the trade configs.) XD And yeah, running this mod in 1440P is basically suicide. But. More power to you.
To be honest it runs really fine even despite my mediocore card (1060 6GB), im not sure if i do pull the 120Hz out of it (does CoP even have the possibility to run above 60Hz?).
BTW just a side question - is there any other big mod/modpack worth looking at? I've already almost finished the game using this modpack and I'm looking for something else that would give me a heavily improved Vanilla experience (not as hard as Misery) in terms of graphics, AI, equipment, gameplay etc. I find your modpack to be incredibly easy to play, three-four runs around Zaton killing stuff and gathering artifacts (on master difficulty) and then selling it to traders resulted in getting over 130k cash, so in around 4hrs of gameplay i was in possesion of an Exoskeleton, SEVA suit and L115A3... that is a bit too easy for my liking, zero challenge and stuff.
Also with the software increase the A-Life setting under system. This will increase the simulation distance. While you may lose performance or possibly gain, it'll allow things to happen off screen so your experience will be more random and different.
Hmmm.. Well thats the vanilla experience tho. Things still hit hard but a good player knows how to play smart and even the zone can become a playground for an experienced player. The Remake mod introduces new enemies (beta/cut enemies) but I don't recall new equipment or more difficulty. However when I find some good time I could look into adjusting damage and sell values and more. I could release a difficult version of this mod. That sound like a plan?
I mean aside from homemade mods as far as I am aware mine is the only one of its kind. A couple come close but usually stray to far from a straight vanilla experience with new weapons and graphics with some software to make easy adjustments.
I know how to adjust sell values. As for damage and NPC reaction speeds and the such I'm sure I can figure out. Don't forget that with the software you can start yourself with no money and no knife or gear.
Yes i know, that is not a concern tho as there is a Mosin with ammo in the bushes right beside spawn point and zombies which are easy to snipe just few metres away, from who you can already pick a nice AN-94 if you're a bit lucky, then you go and kill 2 bandits and.... you know what i mean :D
And yes, that sounds lovely, i would definitely play through a hard version of your mod as it is definitely the most fitting my taste so far. The thing that should be changed in the first place is traders paying sick money (up to several thousands RU) for some rar-ish guns like AK-104 or L85 that you can sometimes pick of bandits/stalkers (and you commonly find them everywhere once you move to Yanov) even if they are badly damaged, which did not happen in vanilla and allows for easy and fast farming of sick monies.
Also - Nimble, Loki and Shulga selling everything from the very start - i mean... you can get a HK417 an hour or two into the game if you try hard enough and know the zone well. That should be somehow restricted (rep with factions?). Getting Nimble to sell guns in the old way again would be great as well.
Keeping my thumbs, your mod has a lot of potential in it, it is already very good.
That Mosin, where exactly is it? Also, is it considered a stash item? I couldn't find it when I did a quick scan or are you just talking about the one you start with.
In the stash north of the Lumbermill, under a single tree just next to spawning point, aside of the road. In Vanilla there is an SVD with 10 rounds there, if i recall correctly
Thanks. I'll PM you a link to the new version of the mod called Lost to the Zone, it amps the difficulty. You'll have to test it however, it's untested for a good part. Changes a bunch of stuff.
Ill take a look into.
Hmmm. Lol3r_86 has not had any such issues and he's tested it fairly well. I've also not encountered such issues. You can PM me the crash log if you like. Also this mod doesn't have fast travel, it sounds like you may have some previously installed mod which may be causing issues. Also dont recall Misery being such a graphical overhaul but i haven't played Misery in ages.
While Misery adds many mechanics graphics wise its not demanding. Try Remake mod for demanding graphics. unless you have top tier pc you have to reduce texture quality considerably o its a slideshow or outright CTD's.
Loved Remake great mod. But even with my 1080ti and reduced graphics I found it rather unstable with the most recent version. I used to have an older version which was more stable but thats lost to time now.
