I am releasing this application as I have found that it may help with crashing and performance issues just like"out of ram" with Stalker-SOC, particularly when using the larger MOD some like the complete,OL09,10 and so on .The utility was originally programmed and released by MadBoris, for the game Supreme Commander. I just have simply tweaked the program to work with Stalker-SOC(for all versions). It is a good practice to specify large-address-aware for 32-bit applications (such as Stalker-SOC), by using the linker flag /LARGEADDRESSAWARE, *even if the application is not intended for a 64-bit platform*, because of the advantages that are gained at no cost. (Info From Microsoft) That is what this utility does; it adds makes Stalker-SOC 'large-address-aware'. However. you also need to enable the '3gb switch' (except in Vista or win7 64 bit).

this "Stalker-SOC 3GB RAM for all versions mod" is pointless, the Stalker-SOC binary (XR_3DA.exe) has been compiled with the IMAGE_FILE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE bit set in the image header since patch 1.0003 released May 8, 2007; read the patch notes for yourself...

Ok noob question I am running this on XP 32bit, will this affect the peformance of other games in a positive or negative way? Do I need to switch back after finishing playing Stalker.
I understand there are other processes running in the background, If I leave this patch on my rig will it affect overal performance of other applications I use?
The patch for STALKER won't affect games that aren't STALKER.

A waste of time and space. All you need to do is open the header of the exe file with Notepad++ and tick the box which makes it 3GB aware. "My little baby sister can do it with ease."
I made a mistake and listed the wrong programme, but the edit function won't let me edit. The correct programme NT Core Explorer Suite. This method will work with any exe file rather than this pointless mod which only works with this one game.

Can't get it to work... I have windows 7 64bit. Followed all the steps but get nowhere... I'm getting the "xr_3da.exe has stopped working" error which I've been guessing is a RAM error. (I have 8GB of RAM).
Guess I can't mod this game then.
Does this fix the issue of the talking to the barkeep, crashing my game?
