One of the most popular changes in Anomaly 1.5.1 since Beta 3 is the addition of a 3D PDA.
When holding the PDA in the lowered position, stalkers can track their position on the map while walking around. This will make it easier to navigate towards map markers like hidden stashes or mission objectives.
And to interact with the PDA it can be held closer to your eyes so it will fill almost the whole screen and the text on it is more readable. If you prefer the old style 2D PDA we even added an option to switch back to it, but real stalkers would not do that.

"Lost to the Zone" Storylines has been added to 1.5 update, with its three installations:
And the new bonus story:
Additionally, you're free to assist your faction and complete their questlines.
The majority of quests will offer info about your targets before accepting, in addition to new types of quests to keep the player busy.
Every stage of the storylines will unlock a bonus faction for the player. A new set of achievements have been added to game as well.

Every single level has been reworked to help convey the feeling of an overgrown, relatively undisturbed Zone. The weather system is improved and expanded to offer variety and atmospheric feel.
Shaders and visual effects have received major improvements, such as the new gasmask with nice refractions, cracks react to light and raindrops. In addition to better tone mapping, water reflections, new wet surface shaders and more.

The A-Life received major changes. For a start, stalkers travel more frequently and report their activity in the other parts of the Zone.
The Zone is constantly changing, so are the anomalies and mutants. Dynamic world items are everywhere around you, even in places you might not expect. Each playthrough will carry something different for you to look for. Explore the Zone, and you might find something nice during your journey.
Special characters and common stalkers offer more unique tasks, along with expanded dialogue. Stalkers can sell and buy items from traders, or even visit local mechanics to upgrade their favorite weapons. In addition: Loners, Mercs and a few others can offer escort services for a fee. Many special characters also have connections around the Zone: you can offer them a payment to bribe an enemy faction, temporarily preventing them from attacking on sight.
The disguise system has improved. Your equipment and behavior affects the way stalkers observe and remember you. And a new experimental feature will make stealth kills more viable to kill enemies sneakily.
Your rank and reputation counts. Exceptionally high or low values respectively will attract attention, possibly even from your enemies...

Did you manage to fix the NPC detection bug when you reload a save? Ex: in Last Day (last version with update and NO OTHER ADDONS) I'm sneaking, I'm 50 meters away from an NPC, he haven't spotted me. I try to kill him, he manage to kill me, I reload the save, he insta turn back, like he KNEW I was there, enemies around are aware of this too, full alert mode.
This is an old issue since the original SoC release. IIRC some people have explained it as your character equipping their weapon on the reload of the save game is the noise that alerts them, even if they otherwise would not have heard you. I don't know the truth of the matter, unfortunately but consider the element of surprise to be lost if you're reloading a save game.
Yeah I know. But problem is, I modified the NPC sound distance detection of all things related to weapon drawings and such. And it's still happening. I wonder if it's not stuck IN the engine (the alert state) and even after a reload, the state is still in the "memory".
I wish I could remember where I read it but I think someone said all the SoC .ogg files lack the proper comments that would prevent that issue, and its only recently been addressed by certain mods. I don't go much beyond tinkering with .ltx files a bit in my modding so take that with a grain of salt.
Yeah the sound comments. I did it for clothes, weapon draw, reload, click, slide, steps on the ground, hits but it doesn't work...
You could also see it as an incentive not to die in the first place ;)
I didn't explicitly do anything to fix that. I've not seen that issue myself. But thanks for pointing it out, I'll keep an eye on it and if I have a repro case I might look into it.
Hi,
Thanks for this! You can try it yourself, save with some NPCs in line of sight, attack them and die, reload the save.
Cheers!
Oh, believe me, I've been in the situation more often than I'd like to. Especially with the auto-saving mod in the pack, this happened a few times. But if the enemies kept aggro on me after reloading, it's never been something I've noticed in a way that was so annoying to me that I felt inclined to investigate the cause.
Nevertheless, if I see it happen again, I'll take a closer look :)
Haha no worries. I'm playing 100% stealth in Stalker since I started playing in 2007. Annoyed by this since too long now. I know Alundaio managed to fix this but I don't remember how/when. So I'm stuck hoping for an answer.
Working great so far, aside from the occasional crash (But that's the nature of STALKER)
I've noticed a few tiny shadow bugs, and every once in awhile one of the sound effects playing will either double or cut out and back in quickly, but it's minor. My only real complaint so far was I wish there was A. an option to bring back the small inventory icons, and B. A way to make the gameworld not so.. dark. I almost find myself needing a flashlight while outside in the garbage during cloudy weather, and needing the flashlight for sure when fighting in the arena. Last Day was dark, but not this dark. I'm having a blast though with all these other tweaks, and I'm loving the performance boost.
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you like it. I'll consider providing an option for small icons and for the brightness, have you tried to change the brightness or gamma in the game settings?
Indeed, I've somewhat alleviated the problem using reshade, but I still find myself using a flashlight way too often. I am loving everything about this pack, though! If you do choose the provide options, my suggestions are for the icons, brightness, and to disable the autosave feature, as I'm anal about my save folder. (I bumped up the time between saves in the script, and brought down the maximum save count to 3.) But that's just me! Brilliant job, Stalker! I hope this gets the recognition it deserves.
how did you managed the __asm__ directive in x64?
By not using them. Code that uses __asm in 32 bit is C++ code for 64 bit. Fortunately somebody already did that and I just had to merge in the code.
It would be nice if following LD 1.3 add-ons would be added as a part of the mod or an option for enabling them:
Add - Economy - higher quest rewards, increased by 2000
Add - Economy - higher values, ammunition, x1.5 + 30 rounds of ammunition per inventory grid + tracer bullets
Add - Gameplay - ability to go prone + player speeds from Call of Misery
Add - Gameplay - DoctorX Dynamic Faction Relations
Add - Gameplay - DoctorX Dynamic Anomalies 1.3
Add - Gameplay - multi-use first-aid kits
Add - Gameplay - remove hands when using backpack
Add - Gameplay - slower time
Add - Interface - HD Hands for Last Day 1.3.1
Add - Miscellaneous - HD models for stalkers (optimized)
Add - Interface - new night vision, better
Add - Miscellaneous - bullet in place of bolt
Add - Interface - scopes, open - by BoyOk
Add - Miscellaneous - save files with location names
Add - Music - dynamic music from Clear Sky
Add - Voices - player pain sounds, free stalkers
PDA Goodwill display
TRX Dynamic News
Add - Economy - money on corpses, more
Many of these addons are already integrated or adapted in this pack. But keep in mind that this pack was not built with optional addons in mind. It's probably better to use the 64 engine from this pack and run your own LD pack with it, if you really want all the addons on that list.
движок прекрасен, картинка стала плавнее :)
CoC 1.4.22 + stalker-coc-xray-64-4 after ~ hour the game takes place:

My computer:
AMD FX-8370 (8 X 4.35GHz); RAM 16Gb; MSI GTX 1070 (8Gb).
Windows 10 PRO (x64)
I have not tested it with anything other than this pack. So it's possible that the engine is eating too much memory when you use it in vanilla CoC. Or there's a memory leak that I missed.
If you keep using the engine with CoC, just make sure you save often. It's probably going to run out of memory every now and then.
