I created this thread to see what kind of disgusting weapons you guys have found in the zone. I recently found my absolute favorite weapon, a FNX-45 Tactical(Custom) which I got from a recently departed Monolith scumbag. This thing is, no joke, a nasty piece of hardware and I fully upgraded it as well which installed a Fully Automatic mode for the thing. Didn't notice right away, but the weapon has both an integrated suppressor AND integrated optics. This is a true side-arm for a STALKER! Post pictures if you can(One pictures of it's stats, a second of it in your hands, and a third aiming down sights).

AN-94

i was just wondering what other ppl are using. stumbled on this thread and it looked to lonely for 6 months. i had to reply. got lucky with this AN-94. was testing out the repair system and picked this gun to test on. ends up being insanely good sniper with the double shot. i just cant find a silencer. i dont even know if one exists. in other stalker games the wiki says they do. i guess ill find out. and ill be looking for a FNX-45 Tactical also.

SIG 550 and SPAS-12. I also have a tricked out AN-94, but it's just not quite as good. The damage on the SIG is high enough that it can kill just about anybody with a single bullet head shot, while the AN-94 needs its double shot to do the same thing. Which means twice the ammo consumption and twice the wear.

Yes, the 5.45 ammo is a little more common than the 5.56, but the low rate of (good) ammo drops from NPC's means I end up buying most of my ammo through "special offers" anyway. Yeah, you can recondition the old and damaged stuff, but you have to have a LOT of it just to make one good box.

The original games allowed a silencer on the AN-94, but most mods now seem not to. Looking at its design, I'm not sure it's actually possible to put a silencer on it in real life.

Over multiple playthroughs, I end up coming back to the same loadout again and again.

One slot is always something chambered in 5.56, or else something chambered in 7.62.
The other slot tends to be either the best shotgun I can find, or a DEagle.

In terms of specific guns I think are great, the USP Match you can buy from Nimble is fucking hilarious:
If you slap a suppressor on it, it has a fucking stonking great hole, because the barrel of the USP Match ends a good few centimeters shy of where the silencer is SUPPOSED to attach. I did have some screenshots saved of how derpy it looks when holding it while sprinting through Zaton, but I haven't been able to find them.

Yeah, the 5.56/shotgun combo tends to be the most efficient in most of the Stalker games. Though in SoC and some mods where the enemy load outs are very location dependent, I will run an AN94 in the southern half of the map where 5.45 is common.

Nothing seems to beat shotguns for efficient mutant killing. Shot shells are cheap, and fewer shots needed means less weapon wear. There are other options, but the pricier ammo and increased repair bill makes them less attractive.

5.56 tends to be the sweet spot for anti-human . Hit harder and with better accuracy than 5.45 while being comparable in weight. 7.62 and 9x39 hit even harder, but they are usually much heavier and more scarce. 7.62 weapons also tend to balance out their increased damage with less accuracy.

SIG 550 Sniper. It has high enough damage to 1-2 shot pretty much anyone with an AP round to the chest. It's basically the best you could get out of 5.56 rounds. It's carried by Mercs and Monolith.
