Hello!
Anomaly is by far the best and polished STALKER experience. From previous versions I think that not only making new contents, also merging and mantaining other material was one of the key decisions.

Lastly there are some pretty good addons that I think that could be a big step improving the out-the-box result of the mod. It's important to give "out-the-box" result a key position: many of us are "used to" install addons, use jsgme, move here and there... but there are a lot of "newcomers" that have problems with specially two things:
a) updating
b) using addons

It's a source of problems (incompatibility, search, download...) and boring and tedious work.

So in my opinion, after playing them, my conclusion is that this addons are essential and their authors made a good and experienced work with it:

  • Trader Overhaul Complete: Much improved, not only "functional", also lore and inmersive way for traders.
    Moddb.com
  • Body Health System: I think could be improved (for example with a better UI) but this idea is not too hardcore and means an step foward in the good direction of actual games (EFT for example). That's always I requested for Anomaly :)
    Moddb.com
  • HD + DD Models: FFS, we're in 2019... forget the really old 2007 models and use a more decents ones: there were on previous versions. These fits totally and have small fps impact. Also could be improved using existing HD models for replace old ones and these kind of things (make coincidence UI suits icons...). I know that's pretty controversial so just add it in a .db file that could easelly removed as player taste...
PS: As it's bundles T.H.A.P ( Moddb.com ) that clearly improves hand models, I don't mention it. But yeah; THAP is nice.
    Moddb.com
  • EDIT: New HD Models pack: Moddb.com Much better (covers more npcs). Take a look to the description: there are HOTFIX to download.
    THAP: Moddb.com + Moddb.com
  • Particles Remade, First Person Death, All tracers, Death Animations and Screen effects by AkkyKyu: Simple things but improves the Anomaly vanilla ones.
    Moddb.com
  • Sound Overhaul: This is totally needed. The new sound-distance system on Anomaly it's just impressive with with addon. That's one of the better improvements in my gameplay, the combination with this mod. So nice.
    Moddb.com
Edit: Another one for improve storms: Moddb.com
  • JSRS Sound Overhaul: For ammo, cracks, fly-by, footsteeps... not the enviroment (that's for the previous addon). If there are not all ways covered, use EFT ones: Moddb.com [here yes maybe could be credit issues]
This is also a must. The improvement is SO huge. Like HD models, sounds is the "forggoten part" of STALKER modding. With these two, the improvement is very big. Don't know if the are "propietary" issues as it's a free non-profit mod.
    Moddb.com
  • As optional: Anomaly Magazines: I think is nice gameplay mechanic, Dead Air bundles it. Maybe too hardcore, but could be integrated and optional enabled in the initial loadout (Extendend: Moddb.com).
    Moddb.com
(Also interesting and a realism plus: Moddb.com)
  • Another small things:
    • Moddb.com (rubles per kg is logical and usefull).
    • Moddb.com (better map).
    • Moddb.com or Moddb.com (work on artifacts... could be intereseting, artifacts are a bit under"used" on STALKER in general).
    • Maybe optional: Moddb.com (more surivival-ist sense - respawn after death. Not so hard like iron modes. Another game type option?)
  • Maybe optional PROSPERITY reshade [ Moddb.com ] in the "installation" or optional folders?

I think that most of these authors will be totally ok about integrate in Anomaly. Also could be part of the team updating and mantaining and also helped by the nice and talented Anomaly team.

About updating, could github host it? And use raw links for download updates, for example, detected with the launcher. Also one file downloads helps new people (not parts and then update and then patch). Using db correctly named and this auto direct dowloading could help.

See you.

An installer that gives you the option to integrate these addons / others would be great, a la Autumn Aurora & Lost Alpha.

1: Firstly, thank you for your support for the Trader Overhaul.

2: I agree, an installer would be a good idea for such a thing.

Is there a specific rules on how to unpack all of this? What if I want to add/remove some?

For example in CoC there are rules on which addons should be installed first before any other and vice versa.

If you include the HD model already, just make sure to gt the HD icon set to match as well.

This is the mod list I came up with. Should I straight up throw them in one by one?

I know that a few mods can conflict with each other and I'm not sure in which order to install them.

Just trying GUNSLINGER mod and test the auto-updater... they made using github, like I mention in my first post... :)
Github.com

Btw no mention to say that mixing gunslinger... would be a dream, but seems that too many works is needed...

Look up JSGME (Jones Soft Generic Mod Enabler) it is quite old but still does the trick in situations where you are only incorporating a dozen or two mods, it will point out conflicts etc. It is the grand daddy of mod install tools Moddb.com I can't seem to find original website and install instructs but follow step-by-steps if you can locate.

Yeah, I know and use JSGME, but I'm talking about merging out-the-box in Anomaly these addons, taking part of its core.

More recent examples of "must":

New RCs

So 1.5.1 for sure:

(Debug mode for testing: Enable Debug Mode in the launcher, or add -dbg to a shortcut, press F7 for spawner).

(Graphics tutorial: Pastebin.com )

DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE IS READING THIS, BUT I'M MANTAINING THE LIST MORE HERE IN AN SPREADSHEET:

I would recommend adding Soundscape Overhaul for the collection. Moddb.com
Changing fake ambient mutant sounds to realy sounds of lurking danger is both life saving and boost immersion heavily.
