Regarding to addons like Trader Overhaul or Boomsticks and Sharpsticks, are they compatible or do I have to merge them manually?

Trader Overhaul, at least the Main + Outfit version, is compatible. B&S will most likely require a patch, I'm not using that mod personally.

bad ammo is useless concept, only makes inventory less clear and cluttered

It is useless, indeed. But using a 35% condition dropped AK with some old ammo you find, can save you sometimes.

So can a 35% condition AK with some good ammo, in fact, a bit better.

I wouldn't mind having 3 or 4 different grades of ammo in the same calibre, if I could consolidate them into the same magazines. It's very irritating to have 30 rounds of 5.45 but need to reload every 5 shots because they're all different types.

The Magazine Addon here does that. The addon is in early stages but is actually very stable. Over 10 hours of play time with it with no major bugs.

"old ammo" doesn't even make sense. The only way for ammunition to get "bad" is if you let it exposed for years in humidity. But all ammo comes packaged, therefore protected from the elements. Unless you want me to believe that the zones becoming irradiated somehow made everyone start dropping ammo cartridges around in the mud because dudeapocalypselmao

Chernobyl isn't exactly the dry, air-conditioned paradise to which you've grown accustomed. Corrosion, cracked cases, water damage, deformation, rust, extreme temperature change, dysfunctional primers... Just having a carboard box between the bullets and the elements isn't enough. Yes, you can fire most old ammunition. That doesn't mean you should take it into combat with the same degree of confidence.

Additionally, consider that old ammunition could have been left behind by the Soviet military before the zone reached its current state, stored for long periods of time in an Albanian warehouse, or whatever.

Your logic is flawed. Ammo does not come packaged in cardboard. (at least military ammo). It comes packaged in steel cases that are water and air tight. Precisely to prevent "bad ammo"

This is helpful.
Especially if your playing increased drops and carry weight style.
All that bad ammo makes a cluttery mess.

Thanks.

Hi, I was wondering what the function of the configs\items\weapons directory is in this mod? I am not very familiar with modding Stalker. I notice that not every weapon in the game seems to be included in the main folder or the "upgrades" subfolder, and the .ltx files are formatted differently from those of the base mod, with e.g. Cyrillic text.

I ask because troubleshooting led me to discover these files were somehow causing an unusual bug: upgrading the OTS-33 to 9x19mm caused it to deal 0 damage. After unsuccessfully tooling around trying to find the right variable to edit, I deleted the whole folder in frustration, which not only fixed my bug but has yet to cause any apparent issues. I can always restore my backed up files if this FUBARs something, but in the meantime I would appreciate any insight about what the heck might be going on here. Thanks in advance and many thanks for making this awesome addon.

Hi.

The reason why this mod edits those weapon config files is because they contain the data which dictates what ammo types the gun can use. My mod removes all instances of bad and damaged ammo from them, as well as from weapon upgrades that have caliber swapping. If they are not removed, the guns that other stalkers use would still spawn with those ammo types.
I can look into the 0 damage bug and see if I can fix it.
Edit: looked into it and my mod doesn't actually modify that weapons upgrade file, so it isn't caused by my mod.

Thanks for your reply, as I poked around more and learned more about modding Anomaly I realized the reason for changing the weapon configs. I also realized that I was likely originally unable to fix the problem because I was messing around with w_oc33_up, when for the caliber change it references the relevant section from w_pm_up. I notice your mod does alter w_pm_up, so it seems possible in principle that it causes this bug. I haven't checked. Apologies if I've misunderstood something. In any case I've begun to edit the weapon ltxs myself, using your files as a guide. Cheers

That was actually really helpful, I forgot that it did that. I think I fixed it, but I can't really test it myself.

Thanks for doing this. I hated bad ammo and in my opinion it served no purpose but to annoy.

Love this mod! One thing I've noticed, the Flea Market traders in the Garbage seem to only sell old/damaged ammo. I can easily fix this myself, but you might want to add a little patch switching those out for their normal counterparts.

Awesome mod, having an inventory cluttered can be annoying sometimes. I've tweaked the settings to about 5-6x less ammo, so I would find between 0-6 ammo on bodies. The main issue is the ammo I unload from guns on dead bodies which can sometimes go up to a full 30 mag AK rounds. This makes buying ammo from traders pointless since you never run out. Is there a way to reduce the amount with this mod ? Or that's not mod dependent?

the only bad ammo is when the cap is gone bad ,
like having been in boiled water for ten minutes

corroded looking ammo is just wiped clean or rubbed and "voila "
totally corroded through the casing ammo is not ammo , it's junk

Жаль мод заброшен, и с новой версией не работает. Все таки не логично когда, как минимум, военные пользуются непригодными патронами.
