Immersive Loading Screens Update addon - S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Hi everyone,

I felt the current loading screen "Tips" in Anomaly was very generic and majorly common knowledge to most who currently play.

I have gone and changed the title from "Tip" to "Info/Stories", this title maybe changed in future to what I believe would be more appropriate.

What's changed?

I have changed 75 lines of loading screen text to unique sentences and paragraphs taken from the existing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. lore and information sites.

These have been changed but not limited to either information or potential rumors about characters, factions, stories, legends, armors, anomalies and weapons.

I have tried my best not to spoil any deep lore or important information. Please let me know if you believe any of these are doing just that so I can have another look and potentially change them.

There is still 31 prior "Tips" remaining that have yet to be changed. I will also be looking into adding further text stemming beyond the original 101 lines of text currently in the game.

The goal here is to make the entire experience more immersive, fresh and new.

Please Note:

This is a work in progress. There will be spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. These will all be fixed in time as I typed this up in a short amount of time.

I just thought I'd put this up now as I will not be able to do further work on any addons for 2 weeks or so. This will be updated and extended.

Some Examples:

The two remaining men started to run, seeing no chance to kill the creature. Dropping a PDA beacon entitled "VERY DANGEROUS AREA - STAY AWAY" they quickly left the area, as the giant started to drag the two bodies back into the factory.

A special military sniper rifle purpose-built for silent, flashless sniping during special operations where early detection of the shooter may be critical. - Vintar

There it was with an ominous glow and strange aura, as the detector was beeping continuously signaling to us that we had finally uncovered an artifact. I said to my friends, "we are going to be rich."

They were about to head out, wearing armor I had only seen a few times in my service. I thought wearing that would scare away in bandit, protect you from any bullet and hold off any mutant no matter how big. I don't envy to what mission they were about to head out on, as if such equipment was needed it would surly be a nightmare, but at least they had the legendary Nosorog armor.

Install Instructions:

First backup your files.

This mod makes change to one file located in gamedata/configs/text/eng called "ui_st_loadscreen.

You can also make a back up simply of the file labelled above, that way if you dislike this addon all you would have to do is replace this one file and make life easy.

To install simply extract the gamedata file into your current main/root anomaly directory.
