Allows you to zoom while holstered and enhances your Aim Down Sights zoom while aiming, similar to how zoom works in DayZ, Arma 3, and Insurgency.
Changelog will be in the first comment.
What does this mod do?:
- When your weapon is holstered or unequipped, you can zoom in slightly at the cost of stamina. This is similar to how it works in DayZ and Arma 3.
- When you're aiming with a weapon, you can bring the sights closer to your face and/or zoom in a little more at the cost of stamina. This is also similar to how it works in DayZ and Arma 3 as well as Insurgency.
- You can adjust the stamina cost, Focus keybind, zoom amount, and weapon distance using the Mod Configuration Menu. You can even disable stamina cost entirely.
Why would you want this mod?:
- Being able to zoom in slightly without using binoculars or scopes is nice when you want to scout your nearby surroundings or just take in the scenery.
- People have asked me to reproduce the aiming effect found in DayZ and Arma 3 so I added that too.
- The nice thing is that these features will cost you stamina by default, so it doesn't entirely feel like cheating.
- Other mods have a similar holstered zoom function, but they don't have a stamina cost or aimed zoom function. Plus, you can modify the zoom levels and stamina cost in-game using MCM.
How to install:
- Inside this mod's zip there will be a folder called "Focus Zoom Main". Move the gamedata folder from "Focus Zoom Main" into your Anomaly folder.
- There's also another folder called "Focus Zoom Compatibility Patches", which will have patches inside. To install a patch, move the gamedata folder from the patch into your Anomaly folder. You should install these patches AFTER you install Focus Zoom Main since you still need the Main stuff.
- If you want to change Focus Zoom settings in-game, make sure you have the latest version of Mod Configuration Menu - Found here
- If you're too lazy to install the latest Mod Configuration Menu, you can adjust the zoom and stamina values by editing the "focused_zoom_mcm.script" (lines 9-20) found in "gamedata/scripts/"
How to use:
- When you don't have a weapon in your hands, you can hold down your regular game Aim Weapon key (Right Mouse Button by default for most people) to Focus and zoom in. This costs stamina.
- If you have a RF Receiver in your hand, you will not be able to Focus zoom because the game uses the Aim Weapon key to change radio frequencies.
- If you have a weapon in your hands and you aim, you can hold down a hotkey (default F) to Focus your aim. This also costs stamina.
- Adjust your Focus Zoom settings and keybind in the Mod Configuration Menu -> "Focus Zoom" tab.
Notes:
- Some fake 3d scopes from vanilla (such as the ACOG, SUSAT, and built-in scopes for the L85 and AUG) do not support the aimed Focus feature. This is on purpose because it looks terrible.
- Other 2D overlay scopes (such as vanilla sniper scopes) also do not support aimed Focus. This is also on purpose since there's no need to bring a static 2d image closer to your face ;]
Compatibility:
- The only important file that can conflict is the "weapon_fov_values.ltx" found in gamedata/configs/items. If you have another mod providing this file and I don't provide a patch, all you need to do to add compatibility is make sure that your old version of "weapon_fov_values.ltx" has these lines shown below:
- [bad_scopes]
acog = true
susat = true
- If it doesn't have these lines just add them. Doing this means you can skip the "items" folder provided by Focus Zoom, including my "weapon_fov_values.ltx".
- Most of the modded scopes (like those in BaS) will have support.
- Scopes that don't have support just won't have an effect for Focus aim.
Other recommended mods:
- I highly recommend getting the Adjustable Scopes View mod, which fixes weapon distance weirdness you normally see in vanilla Anomaly - Found here
- I also recommend the Weapon Sway mod, which shakes your aim and has a hold breath feature to steady your aim. It's best to bind the hold breath key to the same key as this mod's Focus key. - Found here

Reserved for Changelogs. Listed in reverse older with recent up top.
v0.41
- Now fixed so that Focus zoom is only cancelled when you actually have the Receiver in your hand.
v0.40
- If you have a RF Receiver in your hand, focus zoom will no longer trigger by accident. This is because the Fire/Aim keys (LMB, RMB) are used by the game to change your radio frequency.
v0.3
- Added compatibilty patch for Blindsides. For all other compatibility/conflicts I provided instructions in the Compatibility section of the description, so please read that.
- Reset the default MCM values so that it actually reverts to default values when you press the "Default" key in MCM.
v0.2
- Made it naturally compatible with more mods. Should no longer give duplicate section errors or DLTX override errors.

I see you're using DLTX, let me see if DLTX is causing this issue since my mod has nothing to do with DLTX.
Yup, Im using DLTX
Posted version 0.2. You can just reinstall to fix the issue. Thanks for letting me know.

Such nice coincidence, I & Blackgrowl were playing Insurgency Sandstorm about three days ago and I thought; "What if this feature was in STALKER?".
He told me he'd ask one of the coders. Glad to see it's done, great work, I do love those options in MCM :)
Happy to hear yall are using it!

Jesus Christ, i need to learn to use clamp ;]
On v0.2 Install, the MCM values don't match the default values given when you hover over them.
0.75, 0.9, 1.35, 0.65 which are listed as the default values from top to bottom are actually 1,1,1,1 in functionality. I know it's not really that big of a deal but I figured I'd bring it to your attention since I've noticed it. I'm just starting to test the new v0.2 release, so I'll post anything else I might find.
Fixed the issue of incorrect defaults in v0.3 of Focus Zoom. Thanks for letting me know.
Your mod is incompatible with Blindslide's Reanimation Pack v7 in weapon_fov_values(.ltx), it is intended or your're planning a patch to it? Thanks in advance, great mod and idea!
Added patch in v0.3 of Focus Zoom. Go ahead and install that to avoid the issue. Thanks for letting me know.
Since RF receiver ("detector_radio") is using RMB for frequency change, it would be cool to add it into checks of active devices in hands to disable zoom via kWPN_ZOOM
Good thinking. I added the check (and made a small fix to the check) in v0.41. Thanks for the feedback!
10/10 instant classic :)
Very cool addon :)
What if the keybind dosen't show up in MCM? Is there a way to change it in the gamedata?
i have the same issue, i use mcm but the keybind does not show up.
i have blindsides patch too but there must be another mod interfering with the keybind slot
great addon.
would it be possible to have different sliders for pistol like in "adjustable scopes view" mod?
**** yea. Just like "Fluid Aim" this is one of those improvements that may not seem like much, but it fundamentally improves the gameplay to a degree where you'll miss every second of not having it. Gonna stay enabled in my mod list 24/7, thanks for your fine work!

With Moddb.com + kobra scope.
Same issue here. But I am only using BaS and Moddb.com
I tried the manual way. I moved the config and scripts folder from Focus Zoom Main inside my Anomaly gamedata. Then I moved from the Focus Zoom Compatibility Patches/Patch For Blindsides (you still need Main)/gamedata/configs/items/weapon_fov_values.ltx to my Anomaly/gamedata/config/items/ and replaced the old one. After that I launched the game. Cannot see it under Mod Manager and it does not function.
What am I doing wrong? Can I use Mod organizer 2.4.4 to install this?

Hello. A good addition. Is it possible to make sure that when you press RMB, in addition to zooming in on the image, the main character focuses in the scope area, and around this area it was blurred. In my opinion, this is similar to when a person looks at something and the whole focus is on the object, and the periphery is unfocused (blurred). If in the settings you can adjust the size of the focus spot and the power of the defocus, it will be amazing!!
you have to have the mod to get this mod to work?
supposedly installed incorrectly so i installed it correctly and still the mod is not installed correctly... mod broken ??
Hey, your addon tries to obtain MCM values from adjustable scope hud. I think it would be better to first check if that mod is installed. Because if not, your mod leads MCM to add it value to axr_options and sets them to "false", which makes your script crash due to it being a string value.
So it's also an issue with MCM. But to avoid such problems just add a check to see if mod is being installed.
Thanks man! It works really really really well! And the MCM config to make settings the way we want is absolutely amazing!. One of the bests mods I ever play on Stalker! Thanks again!!!!!!
i have a problem: when using optics such as a reflex or holographic, the gun's fov multiplier doubles compared to iron sights. video showcase of the issue; Youtube.com
