Thanks.

In case anyone else is wondering, all official addons (Back to the Roots, English Voices Addon and Minimap Addon) will always run with the latest update unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Thats pretty much the opposite of what the description of 1.4.0 says.

Really?
From the description page of 1.4.0 itself:

"These addons are created by Anomaly Developers and should always work with the latest Anomaly updates

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly Repack Minimap
Enable a minimap in the top left corner of the HUD
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly: Back to the Roots - World
Replaces the HD textures with the original textures from LD, reduces the system requirements a lot
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly: Back to the Roots - Models
Replaces the HD models with the original models from LD, some people prefer the those models
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly: English Voices
Replaces russian voices of special characters from all 3 stalker gamers with english voices."

I mean, I know the description for 1.4.0 is a wall of text, but really. Please be more careful. Mods are often delicate things that must be applied carefully. Every sentence in the description is there to help with that.

Unless you thought I meant ALL addons for Anomaly, rather than just the official ones?

It must have been updated fairly recently.Last time i read it(after my initial comment) it said that no mods would be compatible unless specifically stated so.
I should have read it again before commenting earlier today.
Anyway, thanks a lot for making me aware that i can use the minimap mod!
Sorry and thanks!

It's a pleasure. Sorry on my part for being a little rude to you toward the end.

Good hunting, Stalker!

Is there something you have to do with this addon or somewhere to put it other than copy and pasting the voices into the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Anomaly directory and putting them into Gamedata? I've done it correctly however Mercs and Free Stalkers pretty much everyone still speaks Russian alas. Let me know if someone knows of a way to fix this, I am hoping it isn't outdated.

EDIT: Oh, special characters, just re-read it, is there one for all other NPC Stalkers at all?

If I remember correctly, I installed the English Voices Anomaly Mod (on this page) and then installed this mod at the same time: Moddb.com. They don't conflict with one another. The only bug I see is that some stalkers will speak both English and Russian and will change voices sometimes.

Thanks this helped me a lot.

However the CoC mod adds voices as such:
sounds/character_voices/human_1
sounds/character_voices/human_2
sounds/character_voices/human_3

While I already had a sounds/character_voices/human folder for my anomaly game with some stuff in it.
So to add the CoC voices I had to take the CoC voices out of character_voices/human_1, character_voices/human_2,character_voices/human_3 and put them in the character_voices/human folder in their respective places (human_1/stalker moved to human/stalker_1, etc...).

Only after doing this did the CoC voices work for me on Anomaly.
Who knows if this might help someone else.

And where did you put files from human_2? There's a csky folder as well. In Anomaly there is only csky_1 and csky_3. Did you create a csky_2 folder and put them into there? Or what did you do?

Edit: Ok, there's no csky_2 folder, even in the original db files. I suppose then they have to be distributed to the other folders..

Hey man I'm a little confused on how to go about this. Are you installing the CoC voices and Anomaly voices and THEN moving these files around?

I just want to confirm that these posts were enough for me to get it working on my setup, a pretty heavily modded version 1.5.1. I'll describe it a bit more in depth as well as I can remember - it was a while ago.

First, install Stalker: Anomaly English Voices (this mod).

Then, I didn't have a '/human' folder at all in my anomaly/gamedata/sounds/characters_voice folder, so I added one. The only other folder in /characters_voice for me was /scenario which I don't think I messed with.

Inside new /human folder, I created a series of folders as such:

bandit_1
bandit_2
bandit_3

and then did the same thing for csky.

csky_1
csky_2
csky_3

then did it with 'dolg' and 'freedom' and 'military' and 'stalker' as well. 18 total folders inside my characters_voice/human folder.

Then, downloaded the CoC English voice mod mentioned in this thread (https://www.moddb.com/mods/call-of-chernobyl/addons/english-voices-for-coc).

Extract the mod somewhere that is not the game directory - the file structure isn't right just yet and we have to tediously move the files.

Instead of the CoC English voice mod having a single human folder, it is broken into human_01 - human_03. You're gonna go in, copy the contents of the CoC english voice mod file gamedata/sounds/characters_voice/human_01/bandit to it's new home, which is anomaly/gamedata/sounds/characters_voice/human/bandit_1.

Then you will do the same thing for all the others; human02/bandit gets copied to human/bandit_2 and so on for all of the 18 folders you created in the /human folder.

As far as I can remember, those are the steps I went through to get it working. While I can't verify that every single voice file is working, I definitely have English voice files playing in the game alongside the originals, at least for the factions mentioned in the COC English voices mod description. I find that to be acceptable, as having both languages gives a broader immersion for me.

Hope that helps someone out.

Howdy ho!

A must have addon for me, simply the first one I ever install. It works like a charm with Anomaly 1.5.1.
