Description

The main goal of this addon is to add appropriate mutants at places that should already have them, and at places that are almost always empty, but should be inhabited by something. -- IMMERSION is of the highest priority in any and all decisions. Also: GREAT VARIETY, and very IMPACTFUL, MEMORABLE experiences, (the kind you can read about in great Stalker stories), at all times. ---- The Zone has some very peaceful locations, and some other, very dangerous places. For excitement, seek out those dangerous places. For a more serene life, simply avoid them. -- This addon also can add several additional mutants, (if selected/enabled), some predatory, other friendly. This expands and makes the experience even more complete, which, expectedly, comes with a noticeably heightened level of danger, as one would expect from a place like the Zone.

~ OPTIONAL - PATCH for Boomsticks&Sharpsticks; - knife,skinning
-- Ufile.io --

Getting to the "Brain Scorcher" has more resistance now, so, increase of 50% to the timer seems rather appropriate and fair:
~ OPTIONAL - 'Brain Scorcher' timer increased to 9 minutes, (default is 6)
-- Ufile.io --

Thanks for the great job!
"if you are replacing the previous version of "DynMutants" in an existing save, then set the Slider setting to 200-300, for at least 7-10 in-game days, (sleeping doesn't count)."
Is there no way to skip, and the only way is to wait?
For example, using your mod "BMB" is not a solution?

Removing the mutants with that utility is one way to go about it.

I pointed out the simpler option, for all.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll try it right away.
We're starting a big holiday here today, so this big update is a nice surprise!
Sorry to keep asking this, but if I regenerate with BMB, will Shepherds respawn correctly as well?
I've always been careful not to kill mascots, so I have no idea what happens to them after they die...

The Shepherds will be fine.

You shouldn't shoot them now, also.

Can you please start putting optional files in normal folders instead of zip folders? I need to unpack the whole thing, if it was just in folder I'd just manually install it.

Putting them in .RARs makes them compact, and out of the way, if they are not needed.

It makes it very clear and simple, to anyone, what the base addon files are. -- No confusion and second-guessing.

It is also very quick and simple to extract only the files you need from an archive.

Reply Good karma+4 votes

If you do not compress the optional files into "rar", then the entire 7z archive will compress better.

.ogg Files seem to be weird at the moment, playing on the player character when a mutant is on the current map, can anyone confirm ? I'm using Arzsi's controller overhaul also but just overrode it with all of your files.

I added many more sounds (120+) for some of the mutants, and you can now hear more growls, for example.
- If a Lurker is within 100 meters from you, you will hear it.

Up until now, you only could hear their howls and jump-scares.

Chimera's jump-attack now has close to 20 sounds, instead of only a few.

--------
Aside from 'commenting' them, I also edited the files to sound distant.

P.S.: - Vendigo has close to 90 sounds, and the Chicken 28.
- The sounds are coming from them. -- If they are present nearby.

It might've been a Vendigo, but I'm pretty sure the sounds were non-directional and coming "from" the player character, i would turn around 360 degrees slowly and not be able to discern the direction

Reply Good karma Bad karma0 votes

I notice this with some of the vanilla sounds also.

---------
I've put several days worth of effort in the sounds specifically, but, if they can and should further be improved, I will make additional changes.

With more specifics, I can try to recreate the issue, and go from there.

Lots of tests, and fine-tuning, editing - were involved.

---------
P.S. - the added sounds are stereo. -- (vanilla monster sounds are mono)

Hello. The new growl sounds are a bit too loud and it seems like they are coming from the actor himsel not from the location of the predator which can get ... pretty annoying at times especially when in safe locations browsing trough NPC trader's inventory or working on the workbench. Perhaps you can either make it so the sound is directional or just not as obnoxiously loud. The sound level also doesn't really seem to decrease as you get further away from predators or maybe it does but very little.
Also the new bird kinda sounds seem to be coming from the actor instead from the surroundings.

Just went to Zaton a map that my character haven't been there yet and my game is at day 15 or so and there's many mutants around and i heard loud growls every 5 seconds or so pretty much constant no matter where in the map i am. All the growls are coming from the main character. I'm using Soundscape Overhaul and load order is:

Hey so I decided to turn on and off some of my addons to see what is wrong and found out that the culprit for this might be your Controller Overhaul Patch, initially when I have this installed it crashed like this:

* loading script xr_controllable_monster.script
* loading script xr_controllable_stalker.script
stack trace:

at address 0x00000001401103FF

figured the arszi's script might be outdated since you labeled the folder "~~ OPTIONAL - patch for 'ARSZI'S CONTROLLER OVERHAUL 1.0" when ACO current version is 1.1 so I decided to delete the script folder and installed it with the game relations only. Then it resulted into the earlier monster_relations crash.

The Controller patch is mislabeled, it is for the Controller addon that was available two days ago, I did the patch for it. Probably v1.1 was.

The script in the patch is also for the newest version, but you don't really need it, it just nerfs the Controllers a bit.

Reply Good karma+1 vote

Well ok, if it nerfs the controller then I'm better off not installing it then, I like a hardcore experience.

Hoping for the potential mono sounds patch/update to come!

Levi, your addon is cool, but your description makes you look like Lord British stating that he alone developed Ultima. For people who actually read it it's pure cringe how much time you spent, when there are authors who make much more complex mods and do not state how they spent 40 hours copypasting math.random.

I like the addon, but your description automatically means I don't update anymore.

I'd have to agree to the first part. We really appreciate the effort but stating that this took an enormous over and over again, and then stating that it "NEEDS" to be appreciated, and the way that wall of text is worded is just purely pretentious. It's good to have pride in one's work, but it's also good to have some humility.

Hundreds of hours went into working on this addon. -- More than 300, to be exact.

In this instance, keep the humility crap to yourself.

When YOU put that much time and effort for others, you can be as pretentious as you want.
- Just put in the hours and the work, first.

------
People will appreciate that, or not. There is no middle ground here.

I don't want to hear anything from those who do not. I was clear.

Thank you for the update and the patches for various mods, I was having issues with the Azrsi Controller Overhaul which you now patched. Previously the "tamed dog" (Shepherds) would automatically become hostiles and all the stalkers would immediately attack, due to the game_relation.ltx being overwritten and not having a tamed_dog section (tried to self patch but it never worked as intended lol). I'll give your new update a try and let you know how it goes.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

bmblbx176

I made the Shepherds and the Red Fox fall under the "medwed" community, which is only for them, and are hostile to/from tushkanos and rats only.

The Controller addon probably reverted them to hostile toward humans.

Just a FYI, so that you know what is happening there.

-------
P.S. I tried adding custom community entries, but I got crashes, which indicates that more changes in Anomaly files are needed to resolve them.

As a simpler solution, I opted to re-purpose some existing community entries, that are not used otherwise.

Reply Good karma+2 votes
IgorDolvich

Oh alright, that definitely explains it then. I'll let you know how this new update runs, as I love the idea of non-hostile animals (foxes, shepherds, etc) being in areas of population. It's a realistic example of how some stalkers would bring animals to the zone or natural migrations of non-mutated animals to human settlements. This is also the reason I like your "Dynamic Objects" mod, as it adds random items like sleeping bags, cooking equipment, etc. to abandoned areas that shows previous stalkers might have actually been there.

"Dynamic Objects" addon necesitated more than 11.000 recorded positions, on suitable places, all over the Zone.

Its main goal is to make the areas feel "lived in", and to feel the presence of humans there in the past. And currently.

----------
Here, the Chicken and the fleeing Rats will do their part, to enhance the ambience.

Also, seeing a friendly face is nice and calming, instead of everything being dangerous.
- Shepherds in bases, Foxes out of bases, Birds in the sky.

Everyone of them is beneficial to the ambience.

I'm trying the new update, only about 30mins or so in but I'm having the same issue as other people above with certain mutant sounds playing emitting from the player. It's non-directional and sounds as if the Actor is right on top of a mutant. I also noticed I'm experiencing a crash with the Controller Overhaul patch, although I'm unsure why.

I.imgur.com

Above link is a screenshot of the arszi_controller.script which I believe is the culprit. I'm going to attempt a merge of the patch and the original as your patch is missing a few lines of script. The crash I'm experiencing is related to a nullpointer, so it's probably the script as it's missing relevant information for the controller and is formatted improperly (tabbed). I'll let you know after I patch if it's the issue.

Edit: Merging the .script file appears to have fixed the immediate crash, but now I'm experiencing this error

I.imgur.com

I believe it's in the game_relations.ltx file from the Aszri patch. I'm messing around with the file more to see what is the issue. If I specifically disable the Aszri patch, my game launches fine, which is how I narrowed it down specifically to the patch files.

Edit edit:

I found the crash issue with game_relations.ltx, the line #276 was missing the last "tame_dog, 69, fox, 70" part after "karlik" and the ===== down on line #281 didn't extend to the fox entry. I fixed it, hope this helps you bro. This is specifically for the Aszri patch.

Do you think new mutant sounds issue can be related to Grok's Better Sound addon ? I'm using that as well + Soundscape Overhaul so maybe this combo might be braking something ?
