Blood of the Zone Changes hit fx and adds compatibility towards other popular mods that touch on particles.
Blood of the Zone
Install for vanilla (only blood and compatibility for snow mods, BaS)
- Install Blood of the Zone - Standalone(vanilla) through either MO2 or JSGME.
- If you download manually please backup your particles.xr.
- Install standalone only if you don't want to use Hollywood or cinematic vfx
- INSTALL HWFX and optionally CVFX if you'd like, they are now compatible together with the new merge
- HollywoodFX (Legacy) Moddb.com
- If you are installing with Hollywood then Install Hollywood with the preset of your choice. Then load 'BOTZ - Hollywood (The preset you chose for hollywood' after, give BOTZ priority/load after. Use whatever mod organizer you prefer, if you're installing manually please backup your particles.xr in your Gamedata folder or face pain.
Install for Cinematic vfx
- INSTALL Both CVFX and optionally HWFX if you'd like, they are now compatible together with the new merge
- Install CINEMATIC VFX (3.5 only) Drive.google.com
- If you are installing with CVFX then Only Install the 'CinematicVFX - Core' Be sure to give BOTZ priority over this. if you're installing manually please backup your particles.xr in your Gamedata folder or face pain.
- All winter mods that I'm aware of (Graupel, Melting winters, project inverno) use YAWMS snowscript so it should be safe to use any of the files as long as BOTZ has highest priority.
- Optional Check out Bullet hole decals if you want to pair this addon with more blood Moddb.com
Currently compatible with:
Use the patches provided with Hollywood or cinematicVFX respectively. BOTZ Will always have highest priority.
Boomsticks and Sharpsticks
TAZ 3.0
Contract Wars Weapon Pack
EFT Weapon Pack
I did this a long time ago for personal use and only now decided to update and upload so these are a bit dated with how my game looks now but nothing has changed, more up to date showcases in the future.
- Feb, 5th
-
Fixes to files "0., 2., 3., 4., 5." some incorrect coloring of leaves and other for anomalies that were intended to look more natural in a snowy environment for whenever YAWMs merges were separate. Never quite looked how I wanted them to anyways.
-
Added a texture to files "1., 2." to fix the boar campfire visual bug for those who may be missing it from expedition or cinematicVFX.
- Feb, 2nd
-
Merged BOTZ with CVFX+HWFX so you can now use all 3 together + with YAWM (not required)
-
removed YAWM merges, as all the files are now internally compatible
- Jan, 27th
-
More knife hit fx fixes and changes, more subtle.
-
fixed some odd blood fx occurring.
-
(last update for a little bit unless something urgently needs fixing, merging. Next update will be blood presets, if I have the time to do it all)
- Jan, 26th
-
YAWM v2.2 Moddb.com merged with all optional files under "Optional - YAWM MERGES"
-
Changed knife hit fx for all. (for now, I still want to work on it more)
- Jan, 25th
-
Fixed black boxes on hitfx for cinematic vfx users. Merges CVFX GENERATORS CRASH AND POLTERGEISTS FIX from Moddb.com
Whoa, looks cool!.
Edit : Combined this with Bullethole Decals, and it's a pretty neat dynamic duo!.
Ooo that is a nice combo, glad you like it :)
Can you upload .xr file merges tool please.
sorry, im unfamiliar with a tool that does this? i'm only aware of and have only used the particle editor.
Yes that what I mean "particle editor" for anomaly where can I find it
Sure thing :) Moddb.com
This is all that you really need I think. I can't go to much further into detail, but there are a lot of people in the anomaly discord who can help further if needed
Thank bro
Thanks men, this looks cool~~~
Do I install after "01.CVFX Blood Effects Tweak - Ultraviolent", or this mod will replace that.
This will replace it, you only need the core main file of cvfx :)
I think its safe to say that most ppl use BaS, HollywoodFX, and cinematic VFX. I'll cast a vote for compatability patches, more gore is always good!
Here, here!
Yeah I had to load this last in my order to get it to not be over-written by Cinematic VFX / HollywoodFX, not ideal for sure.
No crashes or conflicts so far?
Nah, all good thus far!.
Looks amazing, great work! I also concur with using this with bullet hole mods, looking forward to compatibility patches if they come!
Oh man ... if you did this addon separately without having to use those addons that kills the performance of my Shity PC, you would be my hero.
(Yes, I read the description, but maybe a bit of crying I manage to soften your heart and give you a little push to do it... XD )
PD: Sorry for that pathetic action.
Really want to! I might give it a shot next weekend and see how it goes but its very time consuming, expectations at a minimum.
edit: You are now free to try it alone without using anything else now :)
Ohh man... You ROCK!!!!
Thankyou so very very much.
Edit: It works perfect.. 10/10
Oh good glad to hear! :)
are you using any mod that make NPC death fall look so natural in the preview gif ?
Moddb.com
it's probably this
yep thats the one :)
Will be cool if blood spilled on the ground and stayed there...
would be great, I don't think its possible at all unfortunately. Would love to replicate rdr2 blood dripping for certain body parts, or even at all, but it isnt possible.
Yeah... Thanks to engine limitations.
Exactly. Supposedly pools of blood with phsysics is very possible, I havent looked more into it yet but there is that :)
Damn, now I wish to see more blood in this mod, like Serious Sam.
Great addon but it would be even more so being compatible with HollywoodFX
Now compatible :)
Looks amazing!!!
Same here as everyone else, will wait for compatibility patches.
This will be one of those favorite add-ons by everyone.
btw as a long-time fan of hollywood fx and a non-fan of cinematic fx I have to say I have converted. cvfx is now much better, has a massively better performance than hollywood (non-potato here) and adds much better looking anomalies along with features like blood and violence. the only thing I think hollywood is doing better now are muzzle-flashes but cvfx are pretty great too. just saying, you may want to give it a go
Ill certainly check it out.
also adds new effects to emissions and psy-storms
Yeah, those emissions are insane! The 2 waves that come through look like shockwaves from a nuclear bomb.
Now compatible with Hollywood(realistic fx) Hopefully it fits your taste, future updates for the other Hollywood choices will come soon TM.
edit:Now fully compatible with all Hollywood presets
Maybe have a ultra violent options will be even better
Would love to, I want to add plenty of choices for people to choose from. I can't really promise anything at this moment though
Nice
More Blood for Cinematic vfx? AWESOME!
Managed to get most things done and compatible, As well as standalone version. I didn't see any issues occur but if I missed anything please let me know. Any issue that results in odd hit fx, or not working I will look into. Thanks <3
edit: I dislike the look of hit fx for blood with knives so this will be the next thing I work on.
Congrats, hopefully more options like (ultra violent one) will come~~
oh my i think i gotta play some anomaly again this looks amazing! now all we need is bloodpools
The blood splatters look great! Would you maybe be willing to include the fixes in this mod?
Moddb.com
It adds back the center anomaly at the Generators and fixes the invisible poltergeist bug.
Hi, thanks I will take a look
edit: Uploaded, I just applied the fix for both gens and polter to the main cinemavfx, i really appreciate you asking because I realized texture folders were missing in cinematic, which would just give players black boxes on hit. bit concerning no one spoke about it, anyways, there you go!
Awesome, thanks!
Just tried it, and the anomalies look like vanilla. I think you might have the standalone version of particles.xr in the CVFX folder (the file properties for both look identical).
You're right, will fix right now thanks
Sweet!
there you go :) should be working as intended now
Fantastic! Thanks!
only one more problem, it's not in the gamedata folder. Not a big deal, just moved it to the proper place and it works great, but you'll probably want to fix that.
Thanks again for the great effect!
sure thing and thanks :) my brain all over the place today so these have been very rushed changes, thanks for being patient
No problem. Another thing I noticed, the fire looks different, and the comet anomaly (the one in the tunnel in wild territory) doesn't look right. I'll send a screen shot in just a sec.
EDIT: Here's a screen shot of what the comet looks like-

thats so strange, ill look into it but i think that is 100% an issue with cinema/the fixed version you sent me in general because my addon specifically just merges my hit fx, it doesnt touch any of the things added/removed/editited other than the hitfx from bullet impacts. I know there are a few bugs like that for cinema . but even that is a bit odd, if you could try to recreate it for me with cinema/ only the fixed version id appreciate it as im unable to for awhile
With just CVFX and the generators/poltergeist fix it looks normal. I'll send a screenshot with CVFX and the gen/polter fix in just a sec
EDIT This is what it looks like with CVFX and the gen/polter fix:

ty, i'll take a look very shortly. can you also share you load order for me.
edit:load order not needed, i replicated this issue. Fixing now ty for checking these things for me, its hugely appreciated.
Believe I found the issue, I merged with an outdated cinema of the fix you sent me instead of 1.1, not sure why they have older versions. Will update soon
Sure thing
Drive.google.com
No problem! Thank you for sharing your hard work!
Should be good to go now :) was able to actually test, everything should look right. any other issues NOW should be just because of cinema, hehe. But of course, if I missed anything I hugely appreciate mentioning it just incase. Thank you!
Awesome, you rock!
Yup, working great. Also, with FDDA, the blood splatter when skinning mutants looks awesome 😁
glad to hear! and thanks :)
