Amazing, works on BaS, if something goes wrong i will try to report. If you update the mod in the future it will be great if you can put the original AUG A1 scope pattern, like in this photo I1.wp.com

The RCO versions of the ACOG used by Marines/Army have the additional horizontal stadia markings. The vanilla ACOG probably represents the civvy version that only has vertical BDC markings.

I can't tell in the pictures, but did you clean the lenses on the acog and/or the g36? Because they desperately need it in the base game. The g36 is nigh unusable with all of the smudges and excessive shadows.

Greetings, Your complement is excellent 10/10! It would be great also if I could address the Acog reticule for the HK417 as it is totally unusable, and for the G36 it would be excellent to recover the reticule model that was presented at SOC

Usually the HK417 ACOG reticles are messed up in someway, in vanilla Anomaly for e.g. the aiming chevron is completely missing. According to the OP i guess the same problem is manifesting.

In the HK417 when adding the Acog sight the reticule is not centered, it appears outside the shoulder of the character or does not appear, try to use a plugin called Weapons Fix that solves that and also addresses the repositioning of the AUG A3, but still the reticule from the HK417 it still looks so bad, I really don't know if it is a DX8 or 9 problem but the Acog sight cannot be used on the HK417

Check out the fix for the HK417 acog its in the new optional files. Although you only get a illuminated reticle when you have light behind your character.

How does your ACOG fare with the HK417? On both vanilla Anomaly and with another scope addon I used the ACOG reticle has been wonky, either missing the chevron (vanilla) or reticle not illuminated (Scope Revision).

Ok, I've just been testing them, but the same problems are occurring.

HK417
Ibb.co Vanilla ACOG, missing chevron
Ibb.co Your ACOG, illuminated but missing chevron

M4 carbine(both with your addon)
Ibb.co Working as Intended
Ibb.co Same rifle and scope, but viewing different objects under different lighting leads to loss of the BDC illumination, but not chevron.

I've also tested it on the G36 variants I added with the G36 Pack addon:

So therefore my questions are:
1) It seems for both the HK417 and G36, only one combination of the acog files are being used, either addons_acog_setka_new + wpn_addon_scope_acog_crosshair only (causing no chevron aimpoint) or addons_acog_setka_new_2 + wpn_addon_scope_acog_crosshair_dot (causing lack of BDC markings). I cannot find the file which control the use of this either, it certainly doesn't seem to be inside the weapon's ltx file.

2)In the case of the M4 (and other "normal" rifles like HK416, SCAR-H, etc etc) it works perfectly, until when viewed from certain angles/lighting the BDC illumination fades off whereas the chevron remains as red. Not as bad a problem as the 1st, but is this expected to happen?

Ok so wpn_addon_scope_acog_crosshair is actually affected by lighting and it's used for the black parts and wpn_addon_scope_acog_crosshair_dot is for the illuminated parts i changed it a bit so the chevron now doesn't stand out as much from the rest of the scope but the rest will still be affected.
And as for the modded guns i think they need to be coded to also use wpn_addon_scope_acog_crosshair but i have no idea how to do that since i can't code (is hk417 a modded gun? i only found hk416 in the debug menu and that one works fine).

HK417 is a blacklisted gun apparently just like the Steyr AUG A3, reddit sources say you have to type wpn_hk417 in the debug menu to spawn it - it doesn't appear by default. The one I had I somehow bought it off Freedom trader Skinflint.

I think the problem with "special guns" needing to use the crosshair files is that they are already using them in some form - which is why half the reticle is appearing - but possibly incorrectly or differently from vanilla Anomaly. And I have no clue where those files that control the use of the crosshair are found.

I had a look at Tacticool scopes Moddb.com and realised he only uses 1 single crosshair file which is intriguing.

Thus, I merged the crosshairs and duplicated it as setka_new and setka_new_2 for the shoker_addons folder. The inverted versions were merged and duplicated as _crosshair and crosshair_dot for the wpn_addon_scopes_acog_new folder. 1drv.ms

The results are:
"Normal" rifles do not experience transparency problems and the ACOG is illuminated regardless of light.

HK417 now has a working reticle that illuminates red only when you have light source behind you.

Modded G36 variants possess only the vertical portion of the reticle markings that cuts off at the 500m marking. It looks weird but still usable I guess.

Hey this mod looks really interesting. I appreciate the fact that you're trying to go for immersion. One question though. Do you intend on doing a similar thing for Boomsticks & Sharpsticks mod? I found some of the reticles there, especially ones like Deltapoint and aimpoint micro, have overly big red dots.

I used Ascendant Crosshairs to show the actual impact point versus where the sight is aiming. I'm running in DX11, if that makes any difference.

(You'll prob have to open the images in a new tab, since imgur seems to have shrunk them enough to make seeing the difference sort of hard.)

okay thanks for the method to check if they are misaligned but there is a problem the acogs on the normal rifles are now misaligned so if you want to switch from hk you will have to remove the file

That's too bad about the 417. The Kobra is still slightly off for me, by a couple of pixels, so I guess one of my mods alters it's position without mentioning it? What do I need to do to adjust it center on my end?

first you need a program that can edit .dds files (like gimp) then you have to go to the files of my mod and just find the kobra file after that you can move it to the position you want (you also need to adjust the layer borders after you have moved it or otherwise the proportions will be messed up)
