Squad Level Tactics is a mission for Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising that focuses primarily on the players ability to command a squad of AI soldiers through a gauntlet of hostile PLA forces in an attempt to complete a series of dynamic mission objectives. This mission offers a completely dynamic tactical gaming experience. With random weather, time of day, infantry and vehicle spawning, objective placement and the complete use of the island of Skirinka in addition to the entire island of Skira, anyone will be able to play this mission with virtually unlimited outcomes.

Report RSS SLT and the new Editor Expansion

I've been hard at work on the new OFDR Mission Editor Expansion(EDX) over the last few months and it's features have taken shape nicely. I'm giving serious thought to recreating SLT with the EDX since it offers a much more stable development environment.

With this in mind, I'm curious to see if there is enough interest in OFDR in general to pursue the notion of starting from scratch on a new iteration of the mission. With the editor expansion, all of the core timing mechanisms and event handlers in the game have been moved over to a root script that loads into the editor and distributes everything to all of the secondary scripts making for a modular scripting environment. For reasons unknown this has also provided unprescendented stability to the game when coding huge missions like Squad Level Tactics. I'm happy to take on the task of recreating this mission if there is enough interest in such a thing. Please drop me a line and let me know what your take is on it.
