Yet Another Unofficial Patch
Role PlayingAn immense unofficial upgrade for the classic RPG, staying mostly faithful and lore friendly to the game's source content, while fixing bugs and enhancing...
I want to make a little setting-test for a climate zone, which doesn't exist in Gothic 2 The Night of the Raven. My objectives are big spruces and the high Mountains in the background. So the world of this mod is situated between the temperate climate zone and the cold north. In Gothic 1
to Gothic 3, there are so many climate zones, but the transit from (e.g.)
Myrtana and Nordmar in Gothic 3 was very, very terrible.
In Gothic 2, there was many climate zones, which are created by the magical power of
dragons (ice, fire, water, earth), but there are no realistic transit from the
temperate climate zone and the cold north.
In this Mod
I try to crate this transit. It's only a test. This means, that the result
won't be very final. For example I don't make new textures, but I will tested
some kinds of level design and will be modeled some new objects.
Also the Gothic 2 engine is very old, so this 7 Years old game cannot show many polygons and objects
with Alpha-Textures. In this little modification I test the limit of the power
of this engine. I hope I will become a feeling what can be rendered in the game
and what can be realized in a bigger mod.
But this isn't just a technical Demo. In this modification, there is a world and a story. And
the two guys, who write the scripts and the story, tested how the modding of
Gothic 2 function.
So it's a really testmod;)
I hope you can understand my very bad English. :D

How big is this world you-re creating?
@Tharr
In these little world the area is circa 20 meters wide and 60 meters long.

Currently (in the newest mesh-version) the polygon-density in the Levelmesh are "very high" (in relation to the Gothic2-Engine) and I hope there are no crashes and errors if I place ferns and grasses:D.
Good luck with this test, I always were kinda disappoint by the transit in Gothic 3 too :)
